Ps 32 5Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD "- and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
The Psalmist always starts by describing his struggles in order to show that God can be trusted in all of life. The question is if God cannot transform our struggles with sin can we trust him with the small things? In order for God to be trusted, He must be able to release the Psalmist from the tension of guilt , fear, shame and sorrow. When he comes to God with his sin, he experiences acceptance and hope. He is saying that God is good because He simply forgives our sins when we bring them to Him. Even when we do not realize that the sin was burdening us and we finally understood that God is always ready to take the sin,we are motivated to come to Him because He the counselor who meets our needs.32 I will counsel you and watch over you.
God knows us more than we know ourselves. God knows that our sin is a burden. God is not surprised when we unburden our sins to Him. When we trust God to counsel us we understand that He is more ready to forgive us that we are to give Him our sin. The point of this Psalm is to extol the Lords availability to unburden us."but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him".The last person that will condemn us for our sin is our great Counselor. Even if we struggle with sin and continue to speak the law, covenants, statutes, curses, decrees and promises, the only reason that we are not burdened beyond our ability to carry sin is because God is preventing us from falling. He writes the entire Psalm to show that God cannot fail even when we do. " surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. 7You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
