The Psalms are the application of the doctrines of grace. The book is the bible within the bible. But it addresses the heart issues of the saints. The NT authors quote the Psalms more than 100 times. I really dont care about opinions.When you use the Psalms as the way to think, you learn that as you are pronouncing them you are getting ideas that put things into perspective in your life. I depend upon the Psalms to guide my thinking.We sing this psalm to the praise of God, because He is with us and powerfully and miraculously preserves and defends His church and His word against all fanatical spirits, against the gates of hell, against the implacable hatred of the devil, and against all the assaults of the world, the flesh, and sin.
