There are two problems that we will not overcome in this world. The
Psalmist complains that because he sins his longings can never be
satisfied. 9 All my longings lie open before you, O Lord; my sighing is
not hidden from you. 8 I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin.The second problem is that we cannot avoid striking deals with the
wicked."12 Those who seek my life set their traps, those who would harm
me talk of my ruin;
all day long they plot deception". The majority is dependent upon a
minority in this wicked world. We cannot be completely loyal because we further the success of sin in buying and selling.
Acts 10 25As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his
feet in reverence. 26But Peter made him get up. "Stand up," he said, "I
am only a man myself." Authority is not given from a position but in
relationships.1 King 3 1 Solomon made an alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt and
married his daughter. He brought her to the City of David until he
finished building his palace and the temple of the LORD , and the wall
around Jerusalem.Solomon showed his love for the LORD by walking according to the
statutes of his father David, except that he offered sacrifices and
burned incense on the high places. 5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared to
Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said,"Ask for whatever you want me to give you." Solomon takes the kingship
from David and the first major political decision was to make a treaty
with Egypt and marry an idol worshiper. Then God appears to him and
says "Ask for whatever you want me to give you." In the end God salvation depends on God and not our repentance.
