Rev 6 9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"
Though out the history of the world, people from all nations have been traveling from earth to heaven after death. The Revelation is a description of Gods chain of command acting to prevent man from destroying the nations of the world. You can see by the reaction of those who have joined the other believers in heaven that they are demanding justice. You would think that the glory of heaven would out shine the personal concern for safety. So the question is why are the people so concerned about the earth when they have no more sorrow. We are seeing by their reaction that their memories of earth are still vivid. Upon entering heaven they are struck by Gods view of their value. So they react with anger toward the way that Christians are treated on the earth. Heaven is a place where we are justified and brought back to our original purpose of ruling the world. When the last christian is taken to heaven we will be rewarded and given a new earth in order to rule with Christ.
The Revelation teaches that God responds to the actions of the nations in opening seals and trumpets. God is keeping a detailed history on a scroll of the actions of men. The scroll is written with Gods response to the abuse on the earth. God has a written revelation in heaven like the earthly revelation. Gods responds with heavenly curses. God must balance the scales of His justice in response with His curses from heaven. The Revelation teaches that God acts justly by the principle of redemption. God responses to the nations with the judgements in order to pay for the suffering of His elect. When we enter heaven we are coming into the presence of God who is in the process avenging His purposes in opening the judgements in the seals and trumpets. God must repay us according to Christ value.
