You know a lot of this systematic confession is just show. Its something that is not human. And the focus of it makes people weird. I think this is what Steve is reacting to. We can relax and enjoy the moment without adding something by taking the lesser things and magnifying them. What does it mean to be human in the biblical sense? Does it mean that we come before a holy God and understand what that is? I mean does God need us to be the vessel to tell other people what it is to come before God or can He show those other people in a different way? I think there is a sense in which people who are gifted differently from others also have a different perspective of Gods holiness.

So the truth is that God must kind of seal up His holiness in Himself and condescend to our level and actually create in us and outside of us what He demands as His goodness. So we are really stupid. We hear things that God does not say and we assume things that God never said He would do nor how He would do it. We can take any words and recreate them to control God.

And this is exactly what the Pharisees did. They took the ot scriptures and built a secure way of living on the backs of the poor and the sinners. The in essence created their own government of religion. So what does God do? He enters time and recreates His word as it really is. Christ is not only the one who spoke the truth but Christ is real reality. He was the most real man and the most real God.

A lot of people think .. well if i can just follow what Christ did then i can be like Him. But Christ did not follow something in the sense that He did not understand it before He did it. Christ experienced complete honesty before His heavenly Father as He was humanly going through every event on this earth. He wasnt trying to be something that He wanted us to be. He was the genuine person.

And so we look at Him as a principle just like the Pharisees took the ot truths and made it easy to do and it was focused on all the physical things. So just like the Father sent the Son into the world for a purpose and it was planned and determined in the God head before the world was created so Christ has brought the means for us and gifted us with His Spirit and word so that we might be genuine. He did not come to do something and show how it was to be done but He came to give us the genuine way to the Father.

Why would He need to give us the Spirit and the word? Because He needs to do more than make us better people. He needs to recreate us into His image. So these gifts that we have are His contained genuine life given to us as if He planted these contained recreated realities in us. So that we might be genuine before Him. And this is more than a list of sins or turning over a new leaf. This is sharing in the life of Christ by His Spirit as if He was still walking in the flesh on this earth.

Truth is in Jesus. And the truth is what brings us to find all of our confidence in His work for us. As we are growing in our faith then we begin to experience freedom because of the grace that we are focused on that grace we will receive in its fulness when we are given our white robes.
But until then we are weak and dumb most of the time because we do not really think that God has determined our sanctification in all of our lives. So we try to help God along. And in trying to go ahead of God we cast dispersions on His work by devaluing it so that it is only obtained by our obedience. But God has His time table and He warns us to watch out for those who preach a works gospel. Because He declares that they make men twice the children of hell.
How do they do this? By what they say is important to them for being accepted by God. And if they offer something that we need to do then they are putting a load on us and we will not experience the acceptance of a loving God but we will think there is something we havent done.
You cant fake real grace. It is always successful. It is in comparison to all other messages..... it alone stands as foolish to reject it. Because it so simple and effective that the danger is to add something to it and thus prevent men from entering into the blessings of the covenant.
This is why Christ said.. my burden is light and my yoke is easy. Because He provided the success of the call in His promise to address the sinfulness of man. And He also cursed the self righteous so that we would not be threatened beyond what we could bare. So that in the truth we have already been given victory over the Devil and sin. But we apprehend that victory through faith in being thankful for all good gifts of God. And so we are patient and kind always encouraging one another .. caring each other burdens etc. Letting Jesus by Gods absolute sovereignty decide how we are gonna grow.

Of course Thor is miss representing reformed theology. We do not counsel anyone to depend upon their own faith to receive gifts from God. But we believe that God gives the gifts and He gives the faith. So we do not place the burden of proof on whether a person is sinning or not but on the attitude the person has toward the sin.
And we find that if a person has received the love of God. If God comes to the person and shows that person what real acceptance is then for the first time that person understands that he is a sinner because the love of God has given the person a perspective on what sin does in bringing pain and misery. So the christian is not looking at his sin but he has a hunger to experience the love of God again and again. Because the heart is restless until it has found God.

So we do not stand on our own ability of faith because it is a gift of God. We rather are very thankful that God has provided us with acceptance for free. So most of our problems are that we think God is mad at us because we do not recognize Him because we naturally stray away from His love. But as we grow... since we automatically know we are sinful then we find that the sinful part was not as dominate as we thought it was in Gods mind. And we begin to enjoy the more free flow of grace when we look to Christ. This is having a vibrant faith rather than always being reminded that we are what we know we are... sinners. lol

Let me talk to you about guilt. Youve had good feelings singing about Jesus. But those good times dont seem to last. And the first problems your gonna have is that evil will attack you. Because the Devil does not want you to be happy in Jesus. The way he attacks you is through people who do not want to be happy in Jesus. But the Devil is working over time to make you forget about Jesus forgiveness and love.

So hes not gonna be nice nor is it gonna be easy to deal with people who do not experience Jesus love and forgiveness. But if we stay connected to Jesus then we can know we are always forgiven even if our sin keeps reminding us that we fail miserably.

The number one method of attack by the Devil is through guilt. You see if the Devil can convince you that you are not forgiven then you wont believe that Jesus forgiveness is as blessed as you experienced it to be. The Devil is gonna make you think that those good times when Jesus was giving you love was not as strong as the Devils mastery over your guilt. So the Devil is gonna hit you hard cause you had an experience of Jesus love and forgiveness. And its not like any thing you experience before. For the first time all you sin is gonna be thrown in your face. The Devil wants you to be scared and he uses your guilt to get to you.

Its like the Devil knows the secrets that will get you to give in and not remember that Jesus was loving you. But the thing that kills the Devils voice is to go to that word of Jesus love for you and sing and worship Him again. Cause the Devil leaves the place were you worship Christ. He cant deal with that love relationship. Just remember the more you are mocked and ridiculed the more you need to focus on that love of Jesus.

cont.. i know i know this message is not normal. Listen there are people out there that we hear and they talk but they believe that forgiveness is earned. They say they do not but when they talk its about what step they have taken there or what new leaf they have handed over here. Back in the day there were clear lines. We knew what a works person was about because the denominations had these confession written in plain english. So we saw what they required and we turned and ran from that church.. but we must get along in the world.

But today these denominations are hidden in the new language of transformation. So the danger bells do not go off in our heads like the former generations. But we know that if Christ did not accomplish salvation then we are powerless to take refuge in Him from this new world order. We have not hope but to be burdened beyond belief.

But we see that this life is not a nice walk. But its a series of private wars in a spiritual sense. The bible says to guard your hearts. This is like putting up a guard kind of like a hard shell that looks like your unrelenting in your conviction. They might say that its bitterness but dont let the devil deceive you. In offering something other than Christ they are seeking to abuse you. Who wants to be abused? The law will will slice and dice you and it will damn you. Christ has saved us from these teachers of the law.

Our sin is so big that its impossible to wash away by our own efforts. If we failed in a very small thing then we have transgressed the whole law. So its not how much less we have sinned but its the quality of sin that have an understanding. Because its according to how we view our sin as to how we apply for relief.
We must understand that God has only one way to get relief for our sins. And it is not through the law. But its through His covenant love to us. He only offers something that is beyond our understanding of love but not only love but beyond our understanding of free. His offer goes farther than the process we have of understanding ourselves as sinners but His offer demands that we forget ourselves and seek God for God.
If we could be willing because of confession then we be living according to a law and not according to Gods promises. Because in remembering ourselves as sinners before God we would offer Him our good intentions. But God is spirit and is to be sought not in a principle but in spirit. There is nothing good in our human spirit. We are corrupted in every part. But God provides all of the strength and willingness in light of His Spirit dwelling in us. We do not live according to a process but according to the ability that the Spirit provides in the spirit of free grace that we have a spirit of willingness.
What does this look like. We must denounce all our own efforts to be acceptable before God. We must hear God speak. The the light comes through the eye if the eye is good then the whole body is full of light but if the eye is bad then the whole body is full of darkness. We understand that the light is His light. In Your light we see light. In Your free ability we see. This very small organ to the outside world that lets the light in provides it for the whole of our lives. Basically we walk in light because He provides us the vision and the light to advance. The rest of mankind walks in darkness. And it is an eternal darkness. Thus the light is an eternal light.
This glory shines in our eyes. It shines in our hearts. It only shines one way. We cannot live in darkness...if we live in darkness we have no power. We experience no hope. But the glorious light is Gods promise to be available by the free access to Christ. In other words we who are sinners who have sorrow over sin only look to Christ and we are filled with joy. We do not need to look at our willing but we need to see that the spirit of willing is receiving the light of the glory of Christ in the free offer of the gospel. It is to be loved not according to our sorrow and sin but to be loved in spite of our sin. There is nothing preventing us from resting in this love. It is the spirit of willingness that is our only hope. This spirit of willingness is beyond our understanding. It provides the basis for God doing things through us that we cannot comprehend. Dont look at your willingness and your sin but look to the free love of God. Then you will be filled with all the hope and joy knowing that He promises to work for the good and it even includes recreating your sinful sorrow to giving you gifts because He loves you. Dont fall back into unbelief but find encouragement in His promise that HE will never forsake you.

This play is my all time cult classic. I love the Jewish view of Jesus. Its refreshing because the writer uses our culture to connect the biblical language with how we receive love. But at the same time he shows a strong sense of justice.

And yet he does not stray from the reality that the story is being played by people in a park setting who are free spirited and child like.

What i like about this play is that the author will bring out in you the anger toward abusive religious people. At the same time he seeks to reach out to the sinner by reaching out into our culture and drawing parallels to how they were abused by the Pharisees. With the plot of Jesus confronting the pharisees in the time when He faced death and cursed them. But the author gives the power of justice to the sinners who were caught in adultery when they had no just cause to stone the adulteress and then they pick up the stones after Jesus confronts the Pharisees about their abuse and hypocrisy and the people stone the Pharisees.

There are some deep themes in this play and the music is very worshipful. Its really well put together. I havent seen a better choreographed play ...from the music to the script translation...its seamless.

The universe is only personal as the word of God rules. So that any other god is not just offered as a replacement but it is a threat to Gods ways. So Gods word is the healing agent that brings about the most personal effects. Without Gods word by itself ruling then all other words are mans words that threaten Gods rule.
This is why the proverbs says that an evil mans words pierce like a sword. Or James says that words have the power of life and death. Because we are only protected when Gods word rules all things. There is no in between safety. What good would it be if man decided to act without the authority of Gods word and left a legacy of hurt and injury in his path? No matter what words he used even religious they still are not ruling words but words of death.
So unless we understand that Gods word rules us and we are going to be a vessel of encouragement then we will take that power on ourselves and show contempt for His word. And we will want to rule God by our own words. This is the same as aggressively destroying someone or treachery. These are what the psalmist says are arrows of a wicked man.God must rule alone through His word. God alone knows who are His ..cursed is any man who does not preach the gospel of grace.
Why do you think that God was so wearied by their sacrifices? Why do you think He called them mules? Or needing horses bridles? Because they were trying to please God through something that was dead. They were trying to establish their own righteousness through the power of their own words. Because they were so focused on the physical sacrifice and the works of their hands that they created a society of destruction by taking advantage of those who did not have that level of gifts.
Now listen God is not interested in teaching the importance of sacrifice. But He is more interested in comparing our sacrifice with His sovereign word that rules. lol  You see man can create his own system by making things important that are meant to be secondary things. Man does not fail because he teaches certain truths but its the ones he does not teach that are his glaring weakness. But there is no equal ability in mans words and Gods words .. rather God establishes His words by showing how evil it is to trust in the things themselves. All the physical things we offer have not basis of our being righteous in Gods eternal dwelling.

cont... a lot of the religious hypocrisy of today is in trying to control God by controlling how His word is established. Ive been labeled so many things i just gladly accept them because whatever is publicly asserted is of very little consequence to me. Ive never thought that the power is in persuasive words. Ive never had a desire to decide to have an appearance by controlling what i say.

The word of God controls anything that is created. It was by the word not only that all things came into existence but how all things are established. And let me say this that there is no glory in the thing itself by its appearance but its in the wisdom, wealth, power and strength , honor glory and praise.. for all things are established a standard that is outside of our own control. Even the work of our hands are under the sovereign power of Gods word. Speak Lord and it will be done!

Even sin has entered by the word of God. Because the word of God either rules by itself in Spirit or its mans word! Its man trying to control how the word goes out and what it appears by mans system of checks and balances. But Gods word rules by itself. It is the standard by which we experience what is real power over us. And so we fail not because we did not have the power to over come but because we did not see the word ruling in and through us and our way. So we seek to find our way by longing for the word to establish our way. We are not looking at how our self image appears before men.
Now listen God has not given man a power of position. Christ says do not call anyone master.. lord.. father.. brother.. for we are all brothers.. there is only one Father. Why is this? because God alone rules by His word alone. Dont think that we can lower God by thinking that His word is equal to our ability. But if Gods word does not rule its not His word but its an image we have created in our minds. If we are struggling with sin then the answer is to long for Gods word to rule. We have no power without God speaking that word of salvation.

What does the Psalmist mean when he says that He praises God all day long? Is he saying that the praises of God are on his lips 24 hrs a day? Well there is a lot of things we believe about ourselves and God that are happy things but they do not last. I think it was the apostle that said that we need to pray with understanding.

But at the same time we have a tendency to pray as if we are trying to control God. So our prayers lead us to a system rather than a personal God who we experience as we search for Him and find Him. So our tendencies create in us our view of the truth as we see it. We are what we believe and so what we are does not always lead to the truth.

This is why the Psalmist explains his understanding of what it means to praise God all day long. In another place he says that he hopes in Gods word all day long. So we see that in seeking God for God the psalmist shows a deep submission to all of Gods word. But we may think that the focus is on our submission to Gods word rather than our need for God by Gods word ruling us. So the psalmist hopes in Gods word because it brings him to an understanding of His inability to do one good thing and His need for God alone.

So we come to the words on the Psalmist lips. The understanding of the inability of the Psalmist brings him to an attitude of submission. Now this is very important. Because submission is not self control by self determination but its becoming desperate in our understanding of the authority of Gods word and His promise to us to establish us by that word. So in real submission there is this extreme resistance in us to see the word of God as the only way the world will see redemption. So the psalmist calls this the indirect ability we have to establish Gods word through going through this desperation as we look to the word as a word of Salvation.

This is why the Psalmist has a new desire to long for Gods word of salvation. This future word is not something the Psalmist imagines can come into reality but it brings the psalmist to an understanding of himself apart from any other power of influence. This understanding I believe is seeing God as being all in all.

This is why the Psalmist experiences illumination. Because the more the Psalmist hopes in the word of Salvation the more he looks to God to establish His promises in the Psalmist own walk. This is what i believe is God promising to go out before the psalmist and make a path of righteousness for him to walk on. In other words the psalmist seeks to remove himself from all that God wants to do in the psalmist path. I believe that pray is not just for us in the sense that we have a choice to use it as a means but its absolutely essential for our spiritual sustenance. And in fact a pray-less life is a godless life.

Let me say a final word here in this post. Our deep inability that moves us to hope in Gods word is our gifted desperation that forces us to absolutely abhor idols. In other words we have no intention of being double minded by thinking that God somehow accepts men on their own terms. Our protection from being romantic about this is that we have a private distaste for godless words and examples. We have such an abhorrence that we would call for the curses. I mean you think just because you carried the tablets down the mountain that it makes you the Holy Spirit but rather these things will keep you from striking the rock.. that rock of offense. Come out from among them and be ye separate says the Lord! He is not talking about our choice through will power to avoid evil things but he is talking about our desire to be single in seeing the word of salvation or Gods promises being established in our way.

The show starts this weekend. Its a musical that follows scripture in the life of Christ. Most of the script is scripture. The music comes out of a Lutheran Hymn book. It is very well put together by our director who has directed this play a number of times. Ive seen every rehearsal and i left being encouraged to worship God. I think there is something extra special about this play. You will be blessed .

If sin was the main issue then we all would have no hope. Did you know that God is the only one who knows who are His? We do not know this. But God has already determined who will stand condemned for their sins. So in a sense we who know God know that the possibilities of having eternal life are already settled. The wicked are already standing in sin and slavery to the law. That relationship is not our responsibility to be concerned about but its Gods decision.

A lot of us have more problems with God deciding the outcome than we have with our knowledge that we are sinners. This is why we feel guilty and worry so much because its not settled in us that God has already decided the winners and the losers. So we act like we are really important and we begin to act religious. And this is what is so strange about us. Here we have a Father who we know but deep down we are suspicious of. I mean of all the people who should be freed from the anxiety of having relationships with people who are not interested in knowing God and making it some big problem in our own minds about how much power they have is like lowering God and in doing so we lower His ability to act apart from our trying to make the world a better place. So we can relax knowing that God is gonna be God and has the rite to decide. We dont have to be overly concerned for our sins but we can let God decide by His will alone.

When we let God be God then we experience a love that is not dependent upon our doing something to make others do what we want them to do. We are free of the worry of acting in order to try to make it something that God has not decided it to be.

Ive been so busy with the play i havent had time to do other things that i enjoy. But i think that prayer is for us. I do not necessarily think that prayer is religious. But its kind of like wrestling. You know that things in the world entangle you. Maybe its something that was said about you or its how people see you. And in this day and age there are so many terms to describe these different conditions of the mind and the physical. So we get to feeling like there are tentacles that wrap around us and force us into a mold where we feel like our expression of being aligned by God of mind , will , emotion is not running on all the cylinders as a fine tuned car.
So prayer is really not for God but its a gift to us from God. Pray is essential for us to know God and to know God in the intimate way of being our only helper... or Father. So prayer is our experiencing this relationship of a Father who comes the aid of His children. What we need to understand is that prayer is really the only place on this earth that we will find freedom to be loved like we want to be loved. Because all of the disconnected experiences we have come from our either having carnal lust, jealousy, envy, strife, or covetousness. All of these attributes are formed in us by other people or by our thinking wrong and this is what we experience as entanglement.

So these evil powers hold us and cause us to feel entrapped. I do not necessarily think they just come from wrong thinking but they can be forced upon us by and evil relationship. We can be threatened to succumb to their power over us. So we are always fighting not against flesh and blood but against powers and forces of evil in us and that force us into that mold. So God has given us these cries of Jesus who in the garden struggled in prayer and sweat drops of blood because of the evil event that was to over take Him of which He was intimately acquainted with understanding the future. In other words Chris was not just praying because of the event on the cross but He actually was struggling with the Devil who wanted to kill Him by the struggle. Christ suffered and intense anguish because the Devil want to kill Him.

So pray is our getting free from the entanglements of the world. And this is why we have prayers that are like war. Because although we have been given victory of the Devil through the work of Christ yet we have been given the means to experience that victory by approaching the conflict like an athlete. In other words we learn how to train and beat our bodies into submission by the art of praying like it depends upon our dieing if we do not receive new life. Or we do not experience the Holy Spirit who gives new life. When we have prayed rite we have experienced an intense battle of life and death ramifications.

Thanks bro... i know i havent been talkin to you on the other forum or on face book.. i really dont like facebook... i mean i have a distaste for that kind of format...but i love ya man... although i havent been much of a help i still pray for you and want the best...

But ive had the most bizarre year. Ive discussed these Psalms in various formats ... at key life... on emails and in classes with friends and other people on the internet so this is a general complaint that i am not talking about any specific group...

But ive actually had people who were looking at using the Psalms to counsel me. And i know exactly what is going on .. i see things and understand how people talk about these things so i kinda figure out what the motive is after discussing these things. But after i explained the purpose of these different descriptions of the difference between the righteous man and the wicked man then there really was a lack of interest in discussing these things further in my opinion. Because i kind of thought that it was to talk to me about my sin.
But after the first angry confrontation i was taken a back. I was one person who had two or three people going after me.  So i decided to stop the interaction. But i was approach and there was apologies and then we began to do the communication again.
Then i get this opposed side as there it is false to say that we can be blessed by praying in a way where we use the word of God for our advantage. I think i was being accused of the positive thinking faith movement teaching. At no time have i ever believed that we say something as if we were claiming it and it was ours. I was simply talking about the new desires and how praying according to Gods will we would end up with blessing. But i was upgraded about this because they opposed me by saying that people suffer and life is not easy. And this ended in an angry confrontation.. so i decided to take some time off again.  lol
While this was going on there were people who were coming into this conversation and people leaving it. Well it dwindled down to a few people . lol. I kind of thought that it did not go the way it was planned so there were people who were not happy. lol.
So i was approach again and we had some communication and encouragement.

Then we had this disagreement about what was true about talking in this way of the meta physical.. so i got the impression that i was being upbraided about this being in my own mind. So i was accused of not being practical and it was just my imagination running wild. lol

Then after a few more conversations there was a disagreement.... and you wont believe what it was about... it was about not thinking positive about faith and blessing... oh my gawd... i was like... is this really happening? I was accused of hating the rich ...there was a lack of love in cursing etc...of being negative in general....and this ended in an angry confrontation... of which i decided that it was time to back out. So this has been a year of the bizarre...

Ive been accused of being a bully of which my general character is to avoid confrontation. I am a softy really.  But its difficult for me because people do not really respect the fact that i know a lot of scripture but yet i do not have a degree. So i ask people have they ever meditated on the Psalms for 3 hours and tell me what that is like. They cant understand because there experience.. their thinking has not been changed in that degree. Its very difficult for me to explain what its like. And now memorizing the book of Revelation ..this book is so heavy it feels like i am swimming in the meta physical. Sometimes my mind feels like it is so weighted down that i cant function... sometimes i feel like this present world is so far away ... i cant get used to this. Im not sure i can endure being separated in this fashion. Its a new experience. Thanks for the encouragement cause sometimes i get down about this.

There is in Scripture ascribed to the Holy Ghost the implantation of all the contrary graces, which are so often compared to flowers and the gardens of them, and unto trees in orchards and beds of spices, planted artificially by a florist (which is an allusion the Holy Ghost delights to use in that book of Canticles); the fruits and flowers whereof shall never fade (as the flower of grass doth), but grow up, and flourish to eternal life; which flowers, &c., because planted in her heart, the spouse there calleth her garden—' upon my garden'—as also Christ calls it his garden, and both in that one verse, Cant. iv. 16, which, as appears by ver. 12, was her own self. 'An enclosed garden is my sister, my spouse,' says Christ of her, 'a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.' And ver. 18 and 14, 'Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, a fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon ;' which is certainly an enumeration of particular graces in their distinction and variety, if we knew how aptly to apply those similitudes in each to what is proper to each. But however, it serves in general to instruct us, that there is such a variety of graces in our hearts, as here of trees in the spouse's heart, * and that the heart of every saint is an orchard to such spiritual plants growing therein; and in like manner, a garden to a like variety of flowers, as in ver. 12. And various graces are meant by either. And the planting and bringing forth these are all ascribed to the Holy Spirit, as Christ's chief planter. Thus I understand that fore-cited ver. 12, 'A garden enclosed, a spring shut up,' to intend that she had two things enclosed in her heart.

(1.) All sorts of graces, planted as in a garden, as the effects.

(2.) The indwelling of the Spirit, as the spring.and producer of all these flowers, and accordingly in ver. 15 she is said to be 'a fountain of gardens, a well of living water, and streams from Lebanon.' Now that well of living water is apparently the Spirit: John iv. 14, 'But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him, shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting liie;' which is interpreted to be the Holy Ghost (John vii. 88, 89), which comes as a spring from Lebanon, that is, from that high mountain, even from heaven, from the throne of God and of the Lamb, as Rev. xxi. 1, 'And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,' which watereth these flowers; which well the church hath in her belly, as Christ's word is in that of John the Evangelist, chap. vii. 88. And all these plants in Christ's garden, which is the soul of a believer, are of the Spirit's bringing forth and setting; for as the earth, watered with fructifying water, brings forth plants as at the first creation, so the soul, bedewed with the Spirit, brings forth 'trees of righteousness, of the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified,' Isa. lxi. 8 ; which (as appears by comparing ver. 1) is recorded as the effect of Christ's having this Spirit given him : ' The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, to preach the gospel,' whereof this is made the immediate effect, viz., the communicating the same Spirit unto his members, for this end, to plant in them trees of righteousness. Thus it is ascribed unto this Spirit, and ver. 11 of the same chapter it is added,' For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations.' In a word, he is styled the Spirit of grace, Heb. z. 29 as the eminent efficient of all our graces ; and therefore, they that apostatise are said to do despite unto this Spirit, as he is the efficient of all graces and gracious workings.

The bible also describes the flow of water, the glory of God over the earth, and the creation in plants and trees as compared to the health of a city. So we have in the bible a patriarchal society. The children are well nurtured plants who grow to be kings. This is done by the teaching of wisdom. I might say it is an imaginative way of communicating.. the mind and desire ... or the imagination and imagination... Kind of like the Man of La mancha...imagination is the caboose of knowledge ....  So a patriarchal society understands the difference between the public and the private. Its not necessarily the definition of sin or the exposure of weakness but Gods kingdom is a way of speaking as glorifying and enjoying God.
Ive heard people say when are we gonna talk about the practical? When are we gonna reduce these things so they can be understood? Its kind of like this.. God must be understood as He is. But all of us are made differently. So there is a sense in which God affords us the respect so that we blossom like individual plants. The way of wisdom is self knowledge. But the foolish way is to reduce everything to put people into a group or a kind of personality.
What happens is that the individual identity becomes a public identity rather than a patriarchal identity. I mean patriarchal in the covenant theo understanding. But the city goes from a beautiful well fed garden to a ferocious jungle. lol

16. The greater light I have said, that Moses does not here subtilely descant, as a philosopher, on the secrets of nature, as may be seen in these words. First, he assigns a place in the expanse of heaven to the planets and stars; but astronomers make a distinction of spheres, and, at the same time, teach that the fixed stars have their proper place in the firmament. Moses makes two great luminaries; but astronomers prove, by conclusive reasons that the star of Saturn, which on account of its great distance, appears the least of all, is greater than the moon. Here lies the difference; Moses wrote in a popular style things which without instruction, all ordinary persons, endued with common sense, are able to understand; but astronomers investigate with great labor whatever the sagacity of the human mind can comprehend. Nevertheless, this study is not to be reprobated, nor this science to be condemned, because some frantic persons are wont boldly to reject whatever is unknown to them. For astronomy is not only pleasant, but also very useful to be known: it cannot be denied that this art unfolds the admirable wisdom of God. Wherefore, as ingenious men are to be honored who have expended useful labor on this subject, so they who have leisure and capacity ought not to neglect this kind of exercise. Nor did Moses truly wish to withdraw us from this pursuit in omitting such things as are peculiar to the art; but because he was ordained a teacher as well of the unlearned and rude as of the learned, he could not otherwise fulfill his office than by descending to this grosser method of instruction. Had he spoken of things generally unknown, the uneducated might have pleaded in excuse that such subjects were beyond their capacity. Lastly since the Spirit of God here opens a common school for all, it is not surprising that he should chiefly choose those subjects which would be intelligible to all. If the astronomer inquires respecting the actual dimensions of the stars, he will find the moon to be less than Saturn; but this is something abstruse, for to the sight it appears differently. Moses, therefore, rather adapts his discourse to common usage. For since the Lord stretches forth, as it were, his hand to us in causing us to enjoy the brightness of the sun and moon, how great would be our ingratitude were we to close our eyes against our own experience? There is therefore no reason why janglers should deride the unskilfulness of Moses in making the moon the second luminary; for he does not call us up into heaven, he only proposes things which lie open before our eyes. Let the astronomers possess their more exalted knowledge; but, in the meantime, they who perceive by the moon the splendor of night, are convicted by its use of perverse ingratitude unless they acknowledge the beneficence of God.

To rule73 He does not ascribe such dominion to the sun and moon as shall, in the least degree, diminish the power of God; but because the sun, in half the circuit of heaven, governs the day, and the moon the night, by turns; he therefore assigns to them a kind of government. Yet let us remember, that it is such a government as implies that the sun is still a servant, and the moon a handmaid. In the meantime, we dismiss the reverie of Plato who ascribes reason and intelligence to the stars. Let us be content with this simple exposition, that God governs the days and nights by the ministry of the sun and moon, because he has them as his charioteers to convey light suited to the season.

This is interesting that God does make the view of the earth more important than what we understand by going into space. So in His condescension He is acting on our behalf. Of which we fail to see the full truth of this.

So i guess guys like a woman who can be quiet and just be there. lol.
Like a car when you need one?

I'm teasing a little.  But I think many men want a woman akin to a dog - that worships him and follows him around adoringly, always glad to see him come home, and always excited to go anywhere with him for a ride in the car.   cheesy

The study of dogs.. what a wonderful science..how they relate to men? I guess a lot of women who have men who do not focus on their needs leave them to their dogs as the last relationship. lol A dog sometimes is a mans best friend. lol

But seriously what does the bible say about dogs? Well they act on impulse with a tendency to bark and bite. A dog always is looking for scraps as a competition for the homeless on the streets. Wow this is a vivid picture. I learned from these definitions that dogs in the bible are like curses... i dont mean they die but actually for some wicked men they last longer on this earth. I like to think of a dog as an animal that proves that God is just and will judge the wicked. So the dogs are actually said to be left to lick up the blood of our abusers.

Now that is not what i say but its exactly what the bible says. I guess in this context the dog and the male testosterone are competing for helping the poor. lol

Now this is interesting because it may be that the dogs who are compared to those who teach a works salvation actually attack the helpless by taking even the scraps from their tables and using them for themselves. Which is a system that is built on some kind of relationship in replacing grace with something offered as salvation. So a dog actually is a Pharisee who takes authority for himself and gives the impression that what he offers is the only hope for a hurting soul. lol And you can be sure it doesnt cost him anything. lol

So we see the dogs are those who feast on the poor and steal from them in wages and in authoritative relationships in which they torment them. Now this may be more like what Christ was saying that those people will in the end actually have these animals lick their blood when they are judged by Jesus. Which to me is a much more graphic picture of Gods just recompense. lol  Oh well i am kind of superstitious about dogs when it comes to God raising his rite hand against these legalist. The moral of this story.. you better be careful about leaving your husband to live with a dog.. lol LOL LMAO Ok its was a joke...

I think that men like women who do not bring a lot of drama into the relationship. So a lot of men are threatened by strong women. But i think that a stable relationship is to find a woman who knows how to enjoy herself without being a burden to her husband. I guess having a hobby would be one thing. Or reading books.. novels.. or christian books or something.

Guys like women who may look at other guys but know what a nice guy who is respectful is and understand men who just want to take advantage of them. Guys know what kind of guys are players and so if a women likes that type then the guy is already thinking how he can get out the door. lol And i think a lot of women talk nice in your presence but when they are in public they discuss things about their husbands or kids that should be private. So a good woman knows how to talk so she attracts good people and knows what not to say so that she does not bring drama into the marriage.

Like i know some women who cannot get along unless they have a third party always telling them what they need to do. I dont necessarily mean a counselor but maybe they read something and take it as the gospel truth that its either lacking in their lives or its fundamentally something they will try to make their husbands do because they think its a good idea. But most men do not want a women who they know is not happy and is trying to change them. This i think is a huge thing. Listening to advice and not discerning that its not exactly rite.

I think a good relationship is built on just being together. Like the main thing is just hanging out. Just doing things together. So i guess guys like a woman who can be quiet and just be there. lol.

I was listening to Lamentations last nite and was amazed at the skill and knowledge of this prophet. Jeremiah was a very intelligent prophet. That lament was not really his own words. But they are lines taken from the Psalms. He basically was so filled with the worship book that he was able to apply it as taking the sentences from different Psalms and piecing them together as a lament. If you follow him closely you will see this man had memorized the Psalms.

This excites me because i feel like hes a man who is like minded. I see a prophet who is lamenting the judgements that he is praying for. lol I mean if you ever get a chance to pray by memory.

If you read Ezekiel you will find that the Sovereign Lord brings an apocalypse to Israel and the nations. This is interesting because the words used are how the Revelation describes the judgments from heaven. He opens the scroll as a metaphor for describing the judgements that the Sovereign Lord will bring about.
He separates His words from the prophets by making the prophet  mute. And then the Sovereign Lord begins to describe the judgements. He describes the judgements like the horses in revelation. Then He talks about how many people will die from these judgements.
Its like the Lord going to the Father and taking the scroll from His hand and then opening it to advance in judgement on the earth.
Its interesting because Ezekiel sees God going out to judge Israel and the nations ..God going out from the earthly tabernacle. lol He describes the same vision that John had and we see the 4 living creatures taking their positions of judgment. The wheels could possibly be some sort of calamity they oversee.

Isaiah 5:28
Their arrows are sharp, all their bows are strung; their horses’ hooves seem like flint, their chariot wheels like a whirlwind.

Its like an army going into battle with the noise of the wheels. lol

Psalm 50:3
Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.

The judgement of God over the wolves in the church.

Yes linda i think we can make all of this christianity automatic. Like taking the physical things and worshiping them. Or worshiping our programs . Ive seen something about this and how life relates to the Shepherds voice. Because if we do not understand how He leads us then we may miss opportunities when He decides to show up. And its really weird because He shows up in places that you would never think He would.

Ive been aware of the public reaction to the Whitney death. She was one of a century artist. And she expressed it in the most professional way. And yet she was humble to feel helpless. But i admire her courage because i was watching some of the funeral and i saw more grace there than i see in organized religion. I guess its more important to resist the message of hypocrisy even if it means not being able to get past an addiction. Because i think the grace has silenced the public reaction.

And i really believe that we have so miss represented what how God works and we really believe that we must get our act together before God will work. But i believe that we may be in the same kind of religious environment that was like when Jesus was walking this earth. We see that the worship was dead. There was a kind of veil of religious hypocrisy over the church. So you find Jesus ministering to people on the country side and in the fields. All the true worship was going on with people who were not part of the religious mindset of that day.
Ive seen something since we started this play. I do not think most of the people in this play would go to a well schooled church. But ive got to admit that ive seen the work of the Spirit like i havent seen in awhile. And i think sometimes its better if people have not been taught the wrong things or have been believing the rite things but doing the act of worship as if it was what saved them. But ive seen something about the Shepherds voice. I really believe that sometimes we need to get to the point where we have lost our trust in our own system of religion and we experience a freedom that is supernatural. But i think God must do this.

We have lost religious expression as an artistic form. We have scorned the importance of seeking God by coming to Him as we are all day long. So we say to ourselves that the cup will make us better. Or we say the sermon is going to change us. The words are more important than the acceptance of sinners and the grace of Christ. So salvation has been redefined to mean that sinners are not part of the worship. I will tell you that ive experienced more worship in this time of watching these artist who some have never been in a church. Ive seen what the word can do to people who really believe that life is just doing things and then we die.But i am really proud of them. Like ive seen love fall on the rehearsal.  Ive seen God show up in the simplicity of the expression of a heart that has no religious hypocrisy.I try to seek God to get to where they are. Like my first experience with God.  Its encouraged me to seek God until i find Him as He is and not what i have been taught that He is. Its going from the word to the Person.

1405  Members Only / Purgatory / Re: When Trust was gone on: April 12, 2012, 04:21:17 PM
God has become a father to the fatherless. So my failure in raising my son is that God will replace my lack of connection. So that my son can pray that when my mother and father forsake me God will be a father to me.
Obviously i cannot meet all of my sons needs. But what i can do is pray for him and encourage him if that is his desire. So far he has received my hugs . But the main focus of being a father is to know God as the only acceptance you will experience on this earth. Because every person is gonna let you down. This is why the Psalms say.. do not put your trust in man. And it makes a startling confession by saying that the help of man is worthless. Now think of that.

Unless God our Father teaches us that His refuge is different than all of the promises and encouragements we get from men then we have not really been in the presence of our Father and understood how He promises to love us no matter what. So if God does not throw our weaknesses in our face but knows how we are made then how can we know acceptance unless He is able to separate Himself from man and convince us that He can hug us and communicate His special love to us. Our problems are that we do not know this set apart love.

God communicates to us in a way that we are encouraged even tho we do not enjoy some things that other people enjoy. Look at my other son. He is mentally and physically handicap. He doesnt enjoy the same quality of life that other people do. But what other people do not understand is that all of us are handicap in some way. If you live with a person for any length of time it will become quite obvious. But this is where God begins to teach us acceptance. We do not look at other people as in need of something as if we were without trouble or having the potential to be so desperate as being homeless. So God teaches us in our handicap by accepting us and loving us just as we are. Gods love is acceptance.

Here is what i do.. i think my son is really special because he has a father who is rich in acceptance. Because sometimes i get a big hug from God and guess who gets that hug? You got it. But i am not always there to give it so this translates into those who bless my son will be bless and those who curse my son will be cursed. So i see this as providing him with the way of success in my going in this way and knowing that i can have that much positive influence on him at any time. lol

Jim B  already served his time. Its funny how people who are so concerned about the legal response are not willing to respect our system of justice and let the man alone. And some people just cant accept that doctrinal differences are fundamentally connected to moral differences ..especially the differences in the kinds of counsel and who is respected as a giving wise counsel. Just because its religious doesnt mean you are obligated to accept their advice. People will react to things just because they feel guilty even tho what they are searching for doesnt exist unless it is in the society of thinking thoughts after God. Every counseling situation is different.. there are relationships in this world that will not do what you think they offer in the end. So the question is who is God to you?

Its really harder for people to understand forgiveness than how it is described in the modern day religious setting. These are times when you just dont trust the main stream of religious advice. And thats why there is a feeling of being alone because of the shallowness of what is accepted as genuine Christianity.

Ive been taking part in helping the Director and my wife with building the set on this play. So ive been watching the blocking of this play from day one. I am really excited because next week it opens in the Moonlight Theater. Ive had a great time taking part and encouraging these actors. The Director has kept it as close to original so its got that 70s flavor. They have a band along with the best vocals you could find ...so the music is fantastic. The dancing coach has done a great job as well on this one.  Im excited about the opening next week.

Most of the time i think if your gifted like Jim you got to go it alone. There are many reasons why people miss understand gifted people. They may not be smart enough so they are jealous. There may be personality issues. It may be growth issues..some people never grow out of their trust in being accepted in a group but that acceptance actually is holding them back. But for someone who is gifted its really hard to even discuss things because gifted people have so many angles they come at a particular subject and most people just settle in a pattern of thinking and its all they have. Seriously .. there are people who get in the way and are too dumb to know it. I guess thats a gift as well.  lol

But the reason that we do not have anyone who is at our side is because God is preparing us in going it alone to have a relationship with Him that is more important than being accepted by men. God will lead us to times of being alone to teach us His personal love. He knows that if we trusted in men then we would not seek Him with a single heart.

There is nothing wrong with talking to God about how disconnect with others we are. We are encouraged to question God about this. I mean some people like to think outside the box... test the rough waters... and i guess after awhile there is no one who wants to go to the deep with you so i use the Psalms as my muse. But ive had some very good muses in the past... there is not too many. Most people want to pull you back in the name of some sin or being afraid when you ask the questions...and some people can be really mean and you know by looking at them when you talk they have a group agenda...lol i mean.. you can be labeled dangerous and have other people being rescued from you when you talk ...lol over my life time... ive even seen some situations where the fight becomes a leader with just one member played out in public.. lol  but we do not need to over react and force God go provide us with someone we can communicate with but to learn to fall back on God alone. In other words God is teaching us to go from the mans systems and to learn to walk with Him as if a person was with us. I think this is learning real contentment.

Going from the seals to the trumpets i think is an attack evolution. We have a description of the physical destruction , then the environmental destruction and and we come to the woes which is a personal destruction.

This section describes how the world system holds men in fear. I think its addressing this ot concept of a war of words like a real war. The elect are said to be protected with God encircling them with His protection. But Gods kingdom is opposed by the ruler of earthly kingdoms. So we have a description of the destruction that this ruler leaves in opposing God kingdom.

This is interesting because this king has a lot of people who are carrying out his plan to destroy the king of heaven. And so i do not just think this is physical force but its a kind of personality of the kings subjects and then their words and actions against the inhabitants of the earth. And we see there is a frontal assault and then a deadly assault at the backs of the recipients of this violence.

Now this could be a religious organized threat. Its kind of like if everyone learned the language of destruction then they could enforce this with threats and violence. I do not think this is just an average citizen of the earths kingdom but its rulers who speak threats to hold people in fear.

Now this is what is interesting because the frontal assault is with threats but the assault at the rear is deadly. I think we have a kind of Judas situation. We have a public threat and then a private kind of murder. You see this kind of personality described in the wicked man in the psalms. He is a man who gets compliance but this is done with threats. Its kind of like the frog in the warm pan. Men learn to accept the threats and live with that level of violence but at some point the person turns on his victim. And this is the evil of a violent man. He uses his victims and then discards them so to speak.

I think it is describing a society in which there is no trust left. And so men long to die. There is no foundation. Men experience a society that has no care. And the end of their wanting to participate in the checks and balances of life they are always experiencing being stabbed in the back. Like a snake or scorpion. And so we have the evil personality that describes a society in which evil men prosper by destruction.

I believe the Shepherd speaks to us all...

"There are other sheep who are not of "this sheep pen".

Can we once again say, "mystery"?
Knowing you on this forum for a long time i believe you have a big God... and if i was to say that you error its certainly on the good side. Obviously we are not the author of salvation so i agree .....only God knows...but as for you and i it better not be all mystery ...as i know you know Him....and yet i can get a bit pesky being His servant and being promised so much. lol
