If God is God then He must be the supreme
judge who not only meets the requirements of the law but must make it
easy for us to understand. So God is also beyond our understanding of
the law He has implemented. How can we even understand the punishment if
we do not really comprehend the standard? Obviously to assume God is
what we define Him by our view of His law is a fatal mistake. Whats
wrong with saying that the punishment must meet the standard of Gods
justice just like His defending His people must be sought after in light
of Gods promises? After all to assume that God does not have a scale of
rewards and punishment is to make a way to God of our own view of good
and evil. This is what injustice really is. Its creating a system out of
mans low view of God to meet the requirements that we think God
accepts. Cannot we just conclude that God is free to punish people
according to a standard that we do not understand. Instead of saying
that God must annihilate most of the human race because our view of His
mercy must be more evident than His justice.
If God carries out
His will in time then He must do it according to all that He is. If all
that He is ... .is beyond our understanding then there is a reason that
He has not told us and revealed to us beyond His goodness to keep us in
the dark concerning how He rewards and punishes. In other words instead
of encouraging us to live in total fear of His real standard He reaches
down to our level and makes these things impersonal to us so that we
will be encouraged to seek salvation over judgement. Doesnt salvation
preordain that the judgement that is impersonal to me is personal to you
as what defines the value of salvation? lol. Its not Gods standard of
punishment that is our enemy but its our lowering Gods standard so that
we must in some ways play God in how we create our own culture. In a
sense we try to live a dream that all of Gods standards are
understandable and that makes them personal to us as if we were able to
not only meet those standards but we could handle the weight of all that
God is by His standards. This wicked man has a head swelled full of
pride. We must seek to be.. to live in the real understanding of
distinguishing our smallness in comparison to all that we do not
understand about the eternal nature of God. We must view life in light
of Gods grace over sin so that we will seek salvation instead of living
with the anxiety that Gods punishment must be so personal that we never
attain this eternal hope.

There
was a time when we put our credit cards in a block of ice in the
freezer so we had to really think about it before using them!
This
is laughable since the bailouts. Money does not mean anything today.
Owing money now is a voice crying from the future. lol. The system is
upside down now. We chose investment over reward for labor. Theres a
price to be paid.
Ah yes, Tom, time to pay the piper. There is some good biblical stuff about this subject! The fathers' sins are literally setting the children's teeth crooked!
Actually my generation has just gotten their retirement literally stolen from them.

Gods law is His working all things out for His
glory and our salvation. God established a people for Himself so that
He might display His glory to the nations in order that men might be
confronted with true love, faithfulness, goodness, mercy, and kindness.
But men go astray and neglect the weightier matters of the law. Instead
men are a law unto themselves. They profess to be law keepers but in
their hearts are all kinds of adulteries, fornication's, and
covetousness. Men are born in blindness and deception. Men to not seek
after God. All of mens thoughts are futile.
So God shows Himself
to a people by grace. Before the foundation of the world God chooses a
people for Himself to display His love. God orders the events of this
world as the reality that He is God and there is no other. God does not
share His glory with any man. Instead God brings to an end the nations
of this world. This is the history of mankind. Nations rise and they
fall. God orders the demise of the nations because He will not allow
rulers to destroy the righteous and helpless. Gods display of His law is
His faithfulness to bring all the authorities to His tribunal and
punish them for edicts that are oppressive. God will not be mocked.
Because
our Father has sent His Son into the world as the Lamb of God who takes
away the sins of His people, then God must extract the price of the
blood of the Lamb as payment for the sins of the Nations. When Christ
comes to set up His kingdom then all mankind will see Him and seek to
hide themselves from the wrath of the Lamb. All the kings of the earth,
the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty and every slave and free
men will hide themselves from the face of the Lamb. This list makes up
all of the different power structures of this world. This verse presents
all men as if they were walking in blindness prior to their having to
face this Lamb ... as if this event was planned from all eternity in all
of these different people as God designing their end. No man has ever
escaped the eyes and ears of God. Man has no authority to escape the
final judgement.
We see that God is not the Father of all men.
For what Father ... if His son asked for a fish would give Him a
snake?... or the picture is like a evil ruler who rules by destroying
other peoples lives. But God has established His family relationship
with His people through covenant. God orders this world so that He
reminds His children in covenant that He is always loving, faithful,
kind, generous, longsuffering. For the purpose of establishing their
way. God works in His saints to will and to do. He does this by
extending grace as the way they are enabled to walk in this world as His
faithful children. God as Father establishes His authority as He
represents His children through His name alone. God establishes Himself
as the author of good by showing that He will work the good out of sin,
weakness, inability , and unfaithfulness of His children as a display
that His glory comes in His grace on display. God as Father provides for
His saints, works on behalf of His saints, forgives their sins, is not
angry with them in light of His not being angry as an eternal God in
comparison to earthly anger expressed. He will not always be angry with
them.In other words as God is eternal and immutable He does not change
but provides the basis for His glory display in the success of His name.

MBG and KK:
I see that you two could not agree on this issue, which I believe is
incredibly sad and divisive. I believe that both of you are right, but
unable to unite.
KK: MBG is right in that God is ultimately in
charge and man does have a sinful heart. No matter how hard he tries,
should he attempt to conquer sin, his trying would be in vain without
God.
MGB: KK is right in that man must choose to recover. The
evidence of your two unions of opinion is in his first statement. KK is
approaching this issue from libertarian view and you are approaching it
from the calvinist view. Neither views are wrong, per se, but the heart
of the argument is what is wrong.
To both: Would it not be fair
to agree that God is the ultimate source of recovery, and should man
refuse to accept God's plan, that man can not recover from any
particular sin?
It seems that both of you are stating that no
matter what, man can not recover from particular sins because it is not
done in the manner upon which you agree...
Yep... I disagree with you.. lol.

God in the ot who came down to save His people through physical circumcision How
do you get G-d saving through circumcision in the OT? Where does G-d
say that if you get circumcised you will be saved? If you “Call upon the
name of the LORD you will be saved”…have faith in…but nothing about
circumcision to be saved. Circumcision is the seal of the covenant
between G-d and Abraham to inherit the Land (Israel) and have numerous
offspring.
Gen
17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name
shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. Gen 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. Gen
17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed
after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a
God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. Gen 17:8 And I will
give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a
stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I
will be their God. Gen 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. Gen
17:10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and
thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. Gen 17:11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. Gen
17:12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you,
every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or
bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. Gen
17:13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy
money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh
for an everlasting covenant. Gen 17:14 And the uncircumcised man
child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be
cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
Salvation
is a separate issue from the circumcision issue and that is one reason
the Jerusalem council put the nix on it for gentile converts. The other
reason is that circumcision for gentile converts was a rabbinical
Maccabeen formula, generated from the conflict with the Greeks. Name one
gentle in the OT that converted to Judaism and was circumcised? There
are none because it was never a mandated by Scripture. What did Ruth
do? She believed and accepted the G-d of Israel as her G-d. That all any
gentile did in the OT. The Jerusalem council knew their Scripture I
wish I could say the say of gentile Christians. Thor
Physical
circumcision was require by God or punishable by death. They entered a
national covenant with the promise to keep the law. They were a nation
that was given the oracles of God apart from the other nations. But they
had no promise of deliverance apart from saving grace. Not all of them
had Abraham as their spiritual father. See the Apostle.
