Matt 6  22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Christian teaching is fundamentally supernatural. Its a hidden life in the soul of man. Its like a small seed that grows into a huge tree. This is why it is compared to light and darkness.  You cannot have light and darkness in the same person. If the light is darkness then its greater darkness. A mixture is worse than darkness.
The light must come from a source outside of the eyes. The eyes are where the light enters the body. So you have this little organ in the body where the light goes in and the whole body is full of light. Think about that. A small hole and the light just illuminates all the dark places. This is why there is an element of success is in the truth as the source of health. The success and health are through the word and Spirit.

We do not have the ability to advance the light through the eye gate and make it illuminate the whole body. But the light itself seeks out the small areas. The truth is the vehicle to create the light. In your light we see light. Or in your advancement in our resistance we see the victory. This is why there is no equal powers in the experience of this divine light. It advances wherever it goes and controls whatever it illuminates. So we are led along by teaching that gives us total illumination or transparency! This illumination is what we experience in every area of our being. It is the most personal experience. It sets aright our physical and spiritual desires. This is the art of divine illumination. We are made rite when we find God.

This light then creates a new man who cannot be thwarted. There is a real confusion in the religious culture between divine confidence and pride. But divine confidence is experiencing this glow in the soul that is what makes us feel invincible both body and soul. Paul says that he had energy by the grace of God alone. It was not him but the grace that was in him. If the light is darkness then its double darkness. The divine nature cannot be mixed.

If you consider the glory of God ... it is the light of God shining in the face of Jesus Christ. The face of Christ is God Himself. It is a light that is too bright for us to come near. This light shines over the whole of eternity that enlightens all the space. This is looking on the beauty and majesty of God. It illuminates the presence of God . It reveals His divine attributes. So when we look on God we are beholding His wealth.. power... wisdom... strength ... honor glory and praise. Its so beautiful that we are drawn to it and in looking on it we give God all of the glory. This light cannot be a shared light.
But this light goes out and rules where ever it shines on. Because it consumes all of the false realities in the time realm. Gods revealing of Himself is in His divine truth. The psalmist says that His law illuminates his experience. This means that the psalmist is made rite by Gods decrees... His work on the psalmist behalf. The light of the gospel cannot fail. It has no equals. We must understand that this light leads us where ever we go or we will experience a kind of darkness. We must understand that we can have this light of the glory of God shine in our face. So we are drawn by this light because we cannot be in darkness. This light translates into our use of the word and Spirit as it goes out through word and sacrament on our behalf to make our paths level and straight. We have the created word and we seek a real person through His revelation to us. In being illuminated by looking on Christ we experience a flow of power that goes from Him and out to our culture. We follow this light as if He leads us rite where HE wants us to go. In understanding the nature of finding our confidence in His divine power then we are made to experience the grace of God as the only source of our ability to achieve any thing in our lives. You see God comes to us in a sense in the light of His glory and we cannot go any other place but being led by Him.

Kk this is not an attempt to compromise but rather to again place man as not a recipient of Gods love but a necessary willingness to procure His love. And if this is not an equal effort it does translate into that in a personal world view. If all things are equal in our power and God then we are left with our own problems defining our sorrow and producing in us a spirit that looks at this life as a continuous time of testing and failure.Kk is such a humble man.  rolleyes And then we receive what we are fundamentally able to produce as defining our value in the next life. This is a doctrine of pain and sorrow.
If we do not have the ability then we cannot possibly do what we are required. If we think we have the ability then we must pay the difference in price to our Savior our under valuing the product that He is exalted by. In giving man full ability to deny this perfect gift in lite of the true returns that it promises we are offering man an ability to destroy himself in lite of his lack of desire to save himself. This is a worse condition than to conclude that a man is blind to this unfathomable for the purpose of giving God the authority that He alone deserves in revealing this gift as what is the answer to all of mans needs. In this sense in giving man that shared authority we are not really defining the answer nor the reality of the need being met. So this is what we call unbelief.
This is why we are in need of a message that is completely contained in the pure activity of the divine. Because whatever we think is pure is as pure as it is in its causes and its means and ends. We need a new nature. Shared ability is a cursed lie.

Freud was a parasite in latching onto grace. Sovereign grace is the incomplete man being created by God out of free grace as opposed to an institutional man. Freud taught that a child's mother was his lover as the price for normal relations! He accused innocent children of a despicable act! He encouraged parents to use wealth as a power structure to enforce the buying and selling of love within the family structure. Freud is the master at teaching the Pharisee approach to patriarchal dominance through generations. Freud opposed the idea of a rule by Christ through kingship imagery in encouraging gifts as the fundamental engine to produce a generation of spiritual authenticity.( My objective is to create success in my sons through biblical revelation. I am for them in defending as the main objective. I curse their adversaries and give according to their needs. God is my witness.) He said that a mans power was connected to his sexual appetites. Mans problem is not that he has a wise insight but he uses his insight in a way that magnifies his own lust. The bible does not allow free thinking but it demands the words to produce the reality as the definition of real freedom. All other views are cursed teaching.

A man is always accepted not based upon his relational abilities but upon the fundamental communications of grace. So we have the cursed dispositions of Freud for control of the peasants and the sovereign grace freedom for holistic biblical teaching. One uses anger to destroy the foundations of a patriarchal generation.  Reality is not found in a mans frustration as a sex object but in the free grace of God to avoid this cursed self destructive imagined anger. A cursed imagination is the equal of ideas out of a philosophy for control in order as a method of personal profit in scorning Gods  covenant people. The bible is a book that we take the whole of the teaching or we are cursed. I mean we can experience some hatred out of deception but real sovereign grace gives up control of oneself so that all other philosophies are judged by biblical applications of grace. We only observe other systems of philosophy we really do not incorporate them into our biblical world view. Our problem is not that we agree with orthodoxy but that we do not hate what is destructive to a person. We must hate with a since of desperation unto the destruction of all that dominates the helpless and innocent. Freud attacks the helpless with his words. I do not think i have miss represented the truth here... may it bring its fruits.

People who give their allegiance to a party are socialist. The constitution is the document that gives the power to the individuals. It is an individualist set of ideals. This is why we really do not give our allegiance to parties because we do not sell our souls to any man made organization. We believe that all authority originates from God. The only value of individuals is found in the spiritual revelation of God. This is why we believe that God not only leads the way to freedom but He determines the adversity of that freedom. All the organizations of this world have in some ways tried to usurp the authority of God by stealing from their fellow man and declaring independence from God. This is Gods definition of arrogance. Pride is like the sin of witch craft because the world by force teaches men there are causeless events.

We have a nation of imagined parties who are claiming constitutional authority. The evolution of the decline of america is in the search for power and wealth. We have been given over to judgement so that we are destroying our country from the inside. We are no longer living as if we swore allegiance to the constitution but we are living in a pseudo democracy using methods that are socialistic.

Our wealth foundations have left the country in an effort to create wealth. We have a run away power structure that rules by taking the free living culture while at the same time extracting the holistic enjoyment of individual connection in the unity of all Americans. We have a new party spirit.

This is why Washington is disconnected from the individual who has been abused by thinking that he has individual power but losing hope but experiencing imperialistic dominance. This is buttressed by yrs of protective measures between the parties in Washington in either culture of power or wealth. It has turned into a street fight between Washington and multi national organizations. No matter which side wins the day it does not translate into this original individualism as an experience for all Americans.
Socialism is obtained through the democratic process. I think its called Fascism. We have a new culture in America. The ruling class and the people who are told what to do. Every part of our decline has been an effort to protect the wealth of both parties. Most of the decisions made in Washington have no bearing on the fundamental rites of the citizens of this country. We are ruled by a system put in place to create wealth rather than to rule by example. Now if we try to get a handle on the debt then we will destroy a lot of lives in the country. If we continue to spend then we will bankrupt the ruling class. The problems with our country are not the effort to return wealth but the foundations of industrialism... labor ... and personal freedoms cannot be attained with the present structure because there is no American back bone for creating wealth. It has disappeared. We gave it away in these individual moral decisions in the past generations. If you want a dreamy kind of teaching Kk is your man. If you want the truth i am your man. I did my home work.

Kiddo, your use of the scriptures I cited show that you are not following the argument I am making.

The honorable Madame Crow-lady stated that all humankind, justified and unjustified alike, contains an essense which is by nature indestructable - a "soul" or a "spirit".  I respectfully disagree, as I know you do also.  My rationale is this:  According to Paul, Peter, Jesus, et. al, our hope is for Resurrection from the dead.  If we are already immortal, why should the Christian hope for Resurrection?  "For who hopes for what he already has?"  Furthermore the Gnostics among us would argue that life as a disembodied intelligence would be superior to life as a corporeal entity, so resurrection is a step down on the spiritual ladder, so to speak.  But if there is no "immortal soul", if  "dead" means "DEAD", then Resurrection is indeed something to hope for.

Citing John 5:29, Rev 20:12, Christ will resurrect all Humankind, and we will ALL give account to Him for the moral choices we have made in this life.  And I understand that Christ will reward each "according to their deeds".  There will be rewards and punishments; let no one have any illusions on that score.  But if some would claim that those who rise to judgement and condemnation are given imperishable spriritual bodies (reference 1 Corinthians 15:35-54) like those who rise to life so that they can be tortured forever, I think the "second death" and "destruction" and "perish" references show them to be quite mistaken.

The gospel is a gospel of God. It was in God from all eternity. So the only one worthy of praise is God. But the gospel of God is a covenant that God made with His chosen ones. Not all the world received the oracles of God. These oracles are mainly to enlighten Gods elect. The law of the Lord revives the soul... the statutes are trust worthy .. making wise the simple... the commands are radiant giving light to the eyes and the fear if pure enduring forever! So we have this promise the the God of the covenant will act through this agreement to establish His people with a kind of redeeming back bone. This is why you dont let a novice lead people because they have no experience in these things and they dont have a back bone.

These rewards in this covenant language are that God will provide.... He will defend us... He will love us alone... and He will deliver us from the day of trouble. How does God do this? How does He display all of these rewards to us? By His kindness extended to us through His unfailing love. So our argument to God for these rewards are not from our acceptance with Him but from His promises to perform these things by His display of His faithfulness out of His contract that He would do this.
In other words we are always going back to the bases for our acceptance with God when we come to Him or we think of our grief ... pain... guilt... shame... and fear. We are always basing all of this reward motif on Gods kindness extended to us through Christ.

This means that in the gospel we are only promised to end the whole of our lives to receive rewards. Now i am telling you how to think biblically so its up to you to accept this. You will work for this gracious God because you know your going to get it either way.  But our rewards are what Christ has obtained in His incarnation and ascension to the rite hand of God. The reason it is this way is because we are in Christ who had all things given to Him. So we receive whatever Christ obtained! Now this is beyond our pay scale! God promises that He will lift us up out of our miry pit and put a new set of clothes on us.. .give us a new song in our hearts.. and do more than we could ask or think.

But all of this comes to us from the rite hand of the Father. It comes through divine providence. We have a day of battle because the rite hand of God is His taking back what was obtained through false scales. He actually takes the monies from the wicked and gives them to His children! Listen .. this whole reward thing is a future promise but it is for ours to ask rite now! We get grace from the battle ready rite hand of God! It comes in different parts of our lives. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Apprehend His promises... every day sue for the price. Bring it before God every day and wait in expectation... He will not disappoint. Bring up the stolen monies and require it upon their heads. Its based upon neglect not necessarily objective scales.... outside of the true elect.  So if we are thinking about rewards in a covenant agreement all the promises are yea and amen in Christ!

We do not want to admit that the christian experience is the most violent experience on this earth. It is believing in a supernaturalistic answer to all of our problems in which everyone to some extent is screaming that it cannot be that way! Listen ... i have had experiences that have freed me from my hard heart that come from ruthless praying. Because i do not believe i am wrestling with other threatening men. I believe i am wrestling with evil and Satanic schemes. The reason we do not believe is because we think the christian life is performance and not artistic communication. But our speech is what develops our inner man!
We must determine to destroy the flesh and its influence. We must curse the evil schemes that bring us into a kind of lethargic worry. Listen.. you say that problems are the reason that make us desperate. But my own experience is that problems force us to focus on the eternal things and cause us to destroy many of the worlds dominance. Listen its the good times that are dangerous. Because this is not a life of ease but its a ruthless struggle to apprehend the truth and remove the opposition in the way of the truth. But it must be furiously personal to us if the truth is going to be applied to people who are in the fire of trials! You cannot possibly bring it to bare on a person if its not refined in the fire! Cursing in a biblical anger way refines us to move along by the truth.

We need people who have been where we are now but they have applied the gospel in a consistent way so they know what not to believe and say to ourselves. This takes a man who has the detail of Gods understanding. I hear application to truths all the time and it is clear that it is not thought out in a wise way. Because we have the greek idea between doctrine and practice. The Hebrews saw that the teaching was the producing of the reality that united community. Teaching was the number one focus when we talk about the way to do things and how we related to God. It was more important than the separate doctrines being understood in an intellectual sense. The art of the christian health is applying the truth to a person like a doctor. Its examining things that we cannot see and producing the application of the teaching to this particular problem like you are doing it in an indirect way.
This is why teaching is a kind of massaging of a heavy heart. Teaching is meant to produce a satisfaction in a person. Its meant to make a person rest from all his troubles! Its like an eight track that a person listens to in which he feels it realigning his desires and moving that person to a new trust in God. Good teaching is directed to go in like a machine boring into the earth. Its the mechanism to unlock the hardness in a person through non threatening procedures. Teaching is 90 pounds of encouragement and 10 pounds of qualifications. Because the human experience is one of constant trouble. But teaching qualifies this trouble so that it identifies with that sinner.  It is not made to change a person predominately by force but through recognition and identity. It is identity and then passionate encouragement.  A person who is taught well understands the experience of getting out of himself.

Let me encourage both of you.Theres nothing wrong with wanting to be blessed in the mists of our troubles. For yrs i have practiced this as a matter of prayer. My my...who wants to ask God to bring more pain in a person? God is always good to us. Maybe its us who think He is like what we see in our human relationships. But i think even with the promise of making us holy ... He does not remain distant and forceful but rather He sets us apart for Himself. Now if God sets us apart then we are completely safe. But this is where we get really weird on God. This is where we presume that God is our accountability partner. Wow lets not think that our safety is determined by our obedience. But lets put our confidence in Gods secret communication to us. Lets try to hear from God when He tells us how He alone sets us apart from all other images ... even the image of what other people look at us in light of our troubles!

Did you know that most problems are due to the way we think? Ive been doing this religious stuff for a really long time. Ive been through churches in my life that are as neurotic as any mental institution. But really the point of the gospel is not to develop a patter in a behavioral mortification scheme. Its to teach people to think correctly about God and us. Because the way we think is like a kind of disease that causes us to be sick. And i have come to see that self talk and doctrine are not necessarily automatic in our experiencing holistic healing that the gospel produces in its application to our lives.

The most hard headed man is one who does not have a purpose to think about life and how christian truth is related to his enjoyment. Did you know that the apostle Paul could not be a pastor in todays standards? The congregations would run him out of town. Think about the apostles gifts. His presence in his genuine concern for the saints. His strength of person to endure the insults and accusations so that the gospel could bring more people to rejoice. Now why is this? Because the apostles were jewish people who had a deep understanding of the shepherd mentality. They were not intellectual theologians who picked apart every little error. But their approach was to write as a pastor as if the person who was reading them was troubled by a mysterious kind of problem and they saw the doctrines as these truths that brought a person to accept himself as a sinner and to develop his own identity through enjoying these truths as if he was eating a dinner! Today we have stuff that comes to us like it was cooked without any salt or flavor. But no matter how much a person knows there is a big difference between experiencing emotional turmoil and mental pain and having the tools to understand all of these deep theological truths. The gospel is meant to produce wholeness in a person. This is the biblical view of being set apart for our Father.

Constitution government is religious enforcement. There was never the separation of the predominate communication between churches and government. This was the predominate way of lobbying. The constitution was a local institution. It was a protection for the rites of the individual within the structure of these communication lines. All truth has its fundamental application through personal freedoms as they are made to find their redeeming paradigm in this way of divine order or communication. The practical workings of this original order is the communication of true redemption because it was the way in the heart of man to experience freedom. The original order was the practical answer to local problems.
This is why the functions of the individual religious members of society has been turned into a weak and ineffective response to official powers. There is never a time when a society is made to function outside of this order by not fulfilling their authoritative function. But this is a matter of orthodoxy!
The evolution of the destruction of the constitution was in the handing over of the over site of government to the public institutions. Because the only place where there is true individual freedom is in the structure of the church. This is why the distinction between a constitutional society and a socialist society has this line drawn in the sand.

Every power in the constitutional sense in having lost its communication in the order given by our for-fathers was a power that was given up at some time. It was the evidence of a departure from orthodoxy.  This is why there is so much frustration in the church between the members... leaders and the public authorities. Because these constitutional avenues of communication do not exist today and thus redemption is covered over. We live in a day where the individual is threatened in this unorthodox way.

This is why most of the practical instruction in the church has no real connection to the experience of its members. There is no one who will give up his own authority in an unorthodox way that can morally claim the high ground. At some point he is sacrificing his own people on the altar of convenience. got to go. i am going to tie this into ot hebrew wisdom... and how unorthodox greek philosophy is.

2548  Forums / Theology Forum / Re: Dietrich Bonhoeffer.... by Dallas M. Roark on: May 08, 2011, 07:41:46 AM
The third essay is on ethics as formation. Bonhoeffer assesses the various theoretical possibilities for solving the ethical dilemmas: reason (it fails to see "the depths of evil or the depths of the holy"); fanaticism (it loses sight of the totality of evil in concentrating upon a particular evil); conscience (it becomes timid and uncertain because of the disguises of evil and degenerates to a soothed conscience to avoid despair); duty (commanded duty does not have the free responsibility of the doer back of it); freedom (it often involves one in doing bad to ward off a worse event); private virtuousness (one must remain blind to evils around him and be self-deceived) .12

These options may have been useful in past days, but new weapons are needed today. The answer Bonhoeffer proposes is the will of God. The will of God is completely exposed in Jesus Christ; it becomes near and personal in him. The wise man is one who sees beyond principles, rules, and other screens to the reality of God. In Jesus Christ the world is reconciled, not overthrown. In the Incarnation where God becomes man, God wishes for man to become true man, for Jesus is not merely a man, but is man.
The fact of reconciliation poses problems for the world especially when it views life from the standpoint of success. Success covers the multitude of sins and guilt. Bonhoeffer poses three attitudes toward success: (1) it is identified with good; (2) "only good is successful"; (3) "all success comes of wickedness."13

Jesus Christ stands as a rejection of success as the standard. Success or failure mean nothing in place of "willing acceptance of God’s judgment."14

The concern of the Christian is with conformation — the forming of Christ in the believer — not with programs, plans, and the practical as opposed to doctrinal concerns. Conformation is achieved by Christ, not by "efforts ‘to become like Jesus.’"

15 Bonhoeffer’s perennial theme of the church being Christ incarnate is renewed here. The church is where Christ takes form. This keeps the church from being merely a religious organization, although the church may be tempted to lapse in this direction.

We are not members of the club or in the fraternity of christian existentialism. Who is a private warrior for the cause of Christ? Who looks at the real circumstances that surround the church of God? Who is willing to curse these fools to hell? Dont let this aggression destroy you personal passion for all that is a cause of freedom! The most powerful effects are those that are always explained and caused by a Divine decree! You must learn how to pray like an underground church member. Its about that time!
God has created and order all things for the purpose of our personal enjoyment. In this modern age of imperialism and destruction we have the only enjoyment that can not be thwarted by men. We have a secret life in our souls. We can speak out but most of the old guard are lost in the old applications in the old country. We must make up a way that makes it easier for our own community. We must have faithful witnesses ready to advance under the banner of Gods sovereign and effective grace. Our advancement is not in our planning or in our personal relationships to people. We do not advance by our own power... we do not have victory with our own swords but this is a dangerous world... there are many hard spirits out there. There are many defiling ways. We are in danger of losing our fire. We are in danger of losing our confidence. But God does things in this world through advancement by christain confidence and desire!
Do not wear yourself out by the common commands and rewards. Do not let them destroy your souls! You must advance through the use of the means. You must fight in the use of prayer and word and Spirit. We are facing a very format able spirit! We do not fight against flesh and blood. But we fight against the spirits that rule flesh and blood. These forces are very simple. They come through many different words to us. They enforce this very idea to fight against our faith. They are the strong holds in members of community. Their voice is very simple. "He trust in God let God deliver him!" In the old America there was no social net to argue in support of these evil spirits! There was no members of Gods community who were agents to enforce anti biblical change. Now we find voices of threats in our own thinking! We are like the toad in the hot pan. Its rite in our own homes! Listen... we are only agents of rescue. We offer real grace. We move by real power. We are the silent people of God who have shielded ourselves from the advancement of the community of threats and accusations. We advance through the cries of Christ! We give our attention to people with real needs.
We are not a product of His created limits of us. We do as He decreed so that we will enjoy His rule. Listen ... just because God created us with limits does not argue for our free choice. It only supports that God is a cause of all the events in this universe. It does not point to our individual freedom but to Gods glory! You cannot be genuine and transparent until you find all of your source of reality to originate in God!

You have everything figured out in your favor there Kk..... you argue that spiritual death is not really inability while at the same time saying that physical death equals annihilation.... a true gnostic. One can fry his brain on alcohol thats for sure.

But really the most personal accountable reflections in ones life come through how a man judges himself in light of the condition of his own soul. Which is his understanding of how he judges all things... that determines his understanding of how he treats other people. Love others like you love yourself... Grin

Obviously your very fond of yourself. And i can sense you have a self power that exceeds most of us on this forum. But at the expense of bloating your confidence to the point where you will explode i regress.

First there really is no general understand of the way the world is heading until we all find our condition as members of this human race to be equal under sin. That means that we give up our wanting to find comfort in events that happen that cannot be explained as the only reality in this one man Adam. For since we all like to think of our lives as originators of a new obedience or finding comfort in a new depravity of someone else we all are condition in a way that we all sin and are depraved in the continuing corruption of this society. What makes all of this personal is our understanding of our condition in Adam! We cannot build a social network to heaven. We must find our comfort in our inability and desperation of something that requires a total instant renovation of each man!

This is why rejecting the gospel is rejecting the foundations of the doctrine of the sin of man! Any other foundation is just a philosophy couched in religious phrases! This is the ultimate theft of a man on his neighbor because all reality has a price. Why do the foolish men think that God is not watching? Why does the powerful think they can scheme to destroy the  poor and helpless? Why do we not see what is happening in this country ... the great scheme to steal the wealth of Americans? God will render these people powerless who participate in the destruction of their neighbors! No matter what the legal intent is God sees the actual act.

The gospel is an impossible way of life without another kingdom that is not of this earth accomplishing the work to obtain it. This is why Christ said that His kingdom is not of this world. All world systems bring their own wealth to the Kingdom of God as the price for their own destruction. Why? Because there really is only one valuable commodity in this world! It was the obtaining of everything that is owned by man to be placed under the rule of Christ. It will be returned to Christ in the judgment. The reason that Christ has taken rule over everything in this world is because men are lost and are unable in themselves to pay the price necessary to claim their own possessions. They owe God the debt of all their lives and fortunes. Why do we believe this? Because we see the real condition of men in sin!...we see the real value of Christ work on this earth! .... we see the real price demanded for mans theft of Christ! We understand the real need for salvation! Dream on Kk.

In a community that has been destitute of the normal family communications ..that being through gifts in a gospel method... we are left with a kind of schematic that produces a scandalous character. This kind of dealing among men as a method is an effort to destroy their neighbor. In lite of the direction this takes in hardening the conscience a purely impersonal society develops. I do not think man can control these terrible consequences. Because the gospel is a holistic form and not a mere method of reform. This kind of impersonal society spirals down into blood guilt. When man follows his own way there is a point where the foundations as the institutions form an unconquerable wall of deceit. The system of checks and balances fuel evil schemes and this pushs society toward destruction.
In my reading about Davids warriors who were a group of discontented fighting men. Who had good reasons to want to fight against the evil. These men were chosen by God because of this motive to destroy the evil. I was reading about the incident where his fighting men got to together to fight one another. But when their fights ended with one of the men being impaled by the sword other men it startled me. I have a theory about this.
I believe that some of his men had blood on their hands as fugitives. But i also believe that not all the men who murdered were put to death in this way. If you read the account of David you will find this rule. There was a kind of self revenge that would deserve death. But i believe it was in the motive rather than the offense that brought this revenge of blood guiltiness. Some of these men where repentant of their having blood on their hands and were spared being impaled in this incident.
But David would pray that God would not allow him to kill someone in an illegal way. This was very serious. In the account of David we have personal vengeance being dealt with by capital punishment. And when you read of Davids sin against Uriah you will see that it is marked out as the sin he did with a purpose. Not even the adultery was marked like that.
But at the same time man is always trying to put his own spin on the life of David in which man creates a kind of straw man in order to place a burden on the guilty that is not biblical. David was forgiven and his rule was established in the kingdom until his death. He was the same before God after his sin as he was before it. The only difference after his sin was the need for his own protection through the vengeance of God. God always helps us along by positive defense and not negative reminders. Not that i am like David in this way but any sin.

This is why we have the curses. They are our protection against accusations that bring us before God as guilty. If you look at the apostle Paul you will see a man who was standing over stoning of Steven. Paul was directly responsible for Stevens death. Not only was Steven innocent but he was a mighty man of God! This was the worse sin in the bible. Now the apostle was not just a forgiven man. He was totally free from his former life. In fact the apostle was able to find complete freedom from the guilt of his former life. He was taught justification by faith and not only the imputation of Christ but it was a gospel protection against self righteous accusations. So much so that the apostle cursed his accusers in Galatians! I do not believe the apostle just accepted every accusation with the purpose to forgive. He defended himself in Corinthians because he saw that his reputation was being smeared by the self righteous and he needed to show that a christian could be confident in Gods imputation! He was a gospel defender of sinners in the church as his main goal!
You look at his attitude about those who opposed him as he warned them they would receive their punishment! And then you see him in his last address to the Ephesian elders where he says... i am innocent of the blood of all men! wow... the apostle took these accusations very seriously! He dealt with them through warning and cursing.

The best case was to capture him unarmed and forced to face the whole nation. He should have been brought before a military tribunal. This was killing an unarmed man.

Regeneration is an act of God in which He breaths new life into a spiritually dead man. Can a dead man move toward anything? Obviously not ... he is a lifeless corpse laying with his hands folded who waste away under the earth. That man has no sense orientation.
But when the Spirit acts upon a man in regeneration the Spirit gives a man new spiritual senses. The only way a man can respond to God is through this gift of faith! For without faith it is...... IMPOSSIBLE.... to please God. What the apostle is saying here is that a man must have a divine knowledge gifted to Him in order for that man to understand salvation. This divine knowledge is like a light that shines in the darkness. Before a man is regenerated he is in complete darkness. But when the Spirit enlightens the mans mind through the implantation of the word then that word is the life giving source of renewal that begins to grow into a big plant of knowledge in the process of the renewal of the soul.
This is faith that comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. This faith is a belief in Christ. It is like the source of trust. The faith has an object that produces the quality of believing. Christ is the beginning of this saving faith and the end of the faith. A man does not trust in other saving effects. This man puts all of his trust in the person of Christ. Because the object who is Christ determines the quality of the believing. There is no where else to go!
When a man receives the implanted word that knowledge is experiential knowledge. It is the divine light that is determined upon a man to lead him in all of his ways. The experience of this knowledge is a new orientation toward spiritual things... the word of God through spiritual senses. A man cannot be saved by the physical words on a page. He must be renewed in his spirit.. or he must have the very nature of God implanted in him. There are no eternal origins of experience without the nature as the cause... means and ends of that experience. This means that a man desires the things of God as a natural longing by this new nature. So the man sees Christ as the only value in this life... a man touches the spiritual things through understanding the truths... a man feels these things in the holistic doctrines of grace in each teaching. And a man smells the goodness as if he were eating a meal... he must return to the food or he will be miserable. When we are regenerated we begin to experience God Himself.  I do hope you put the words of disagreement on this page...  Grin

Let me talk about the difference between the Renascence man and the modern man. The ot male was an image that is closer to the Renascence man. Since we are talking about the Royal Wedding the ot also has a picture of the Wedding of the covenant man. There is a very big description of this man as he approaches his wedding with the garb of war. He holds a sword on his side and is ready to fight for his position in Israel by the Spirit point to his right hand. Ot language of the rite hand is his position of authority as a warrior in the armies of God.
Its like a man coming to his wedding packing a 357 magnum in todays culture.

I havent met to many woman who like to have the men go to war. I think a woman who enjoys this kind of thing is in some ways putting country over her own childs rights. But its been my experience that a woman does not like aggressive prayers either. Now this is why there is a wide gulf of understanding between men and women. A man is not afraid to pray in a bloodthirsty way. But a woman will approach this with a kind of puzzling problem about her man.

But this is the picture of a man in the Psalms. He actually is identified as a warrior in the army garb in his wedding. Most of t he problems that men have in this day and age i believe are in this misunderstanding. Men do not feel the need to pray in a way that is negative or hateful. They learn from a child that a good man works hard... communicates with his wife... plays games with the children and prays in a loving way toward all men... lol....But this is not the picture in the ot psalm of a mans responsibility in a family description. Men are to destroy any evil in their way by their prayers. A woman may sport at the process but the results will be more encouraging to her than all the romance a man can produce.

I do not understand this idea of let go and let God. The christian faith is personal experience. If we forget ourselves then we have no way to walk in this world. We would be mindless robots to the world system. The christian man is personally active in how he thinks and distinguishes between all things. A mans desire to live this christian life comes from his personal hate. How can a believer understand his hate if he does not think it exist? If a believer just pushes his anger away in not thinking about himself then he is not obedient! Jesus says you will love One and hate the other. He isnt excusing us from actively doing so.

This is why we are thinking people. Because we have real imaginations... we have real images... we have real pathways in our minds that actively produce our general disposition. We are thinking and reasoning beings. We must confront these kinds of images before we are enabled to distinguish the forces in this world. We cannot ignore our own feelings about these things.

This is why we have characters in our minds who represent good and evil. We imagine an evil by the image that we have developed in our experiencing this world. The source of all of our images comes out of our knowledge of the truth. It does not come out of our own minds. The only thing that we produce in our own way of thinking is confusion! We are responsible to think Gods thoughts after Him so that we might distinguish between what is a real character and what is an imaginative character!

The wicked man is a distinct character. We not only can discern the wicked man through our knowledge of Christ but we can sense and understand what it is that makes us experience sorrow by our new oriented sense! These wicked characters come through our sorrow out of our sense of fear ... grief... shame and greed. We make these images real by our own propensities to experience these dispositions. But we must have a way to attack this interior uprising!

We attack it through the powerful light that God exposes these images by our present experience. We are going on a path in a sense to the glory. God exposes truth to us in our personal experience with our distinction between the reality world and the imaginations. This is why the word cuts through our distinction of dividing the soul with the soulish devils.  We are able to distinguish between good and evil in an image. This is why the experience of a believer is as personal as his responsible use of the means of faith in order to bring down the wicked images!

We destroy these evil characters by going through them. We want all the evil characters to be destroyed. To be shamed... to be in sudden ruin. Why? Because the most personal voices are in community in our own minds as the reality of all the fellowship we have with other people. Listen to me there are evil characters who grow closer in the day of trouble. They are the ones God promises to deal with so that we will experience being in a field of freedom. We are what we think and we experience exactly what weights of trials we have in our own minds. These are not imaginations in a christian man. They represent a need to find our comfort in real Persons!

There is a difference between inability and stupidity. The mark of a fool is his lack of biblical understanding. We are not talking about a moral equality between good behavior and real blessing here. This is why the distinction in this metaphysical inability. We are looking at two directions in this life. These directions are determined upon grace alone! The distinction is not a moral one but a direct conflict in this world. It is fighting for a cause that God has for each saint!
This is not a social club where we assign people things to do. We are not a business where we collect money and obtain a physical appearance of goodness in all areas. This is a society of people being gifted out of a sense of helplessness so that they in turn can offer a piece of bread to their neighbor. We ask for a piece of bread...our Father gives us more than that. The self righteous give us more burdens. They actively work against the practice of the gifts.

This is why the christian community is a diverse body. We do things in this world that cannot be understood in how the world produces good. Our focus is on the Person so that we will come to the aid of persons. We are not building something that is permanent on this earth! But we are learning a way to think in order that we may fight against whiles. We are being given powers to bring down heavenly forces in this world. We are not a local cawg in the machine of the spread of the gospel but we are international warriors producing reality in all the earth! It is to David and his seed.

Listen we are to put all of our confidence in Christ. There are bullies in the world of the religious as well as in the world. Bullies want to do and say things that will destroy their neighbor. Their words are like swords because they have tongues that are dominated by their own thinking. They have no problem saying things that will destroy another person. Did you know that the secret counsel of God is focused on the word kingdom and not the action kingdom? Because all of the evil dominance of the world and the self righteous come rite out of their hearts and on to their tongues. Look what James says. He does not say a man is known by his production of wealth... or his power to obtain dominance in this world. Actions that are seen as wise! He says that wise men are known for their kindness their generosity their general conduct in bringing relief to the hurting and their attendance to people needs! These are the actions of a true saint! I am just getting started!

In the sermon on the Mount Jesus is attacking the anger of an unregenerate person. He is attack self righteous anger which is a person who is angry from the reality of a false disciple. He is not teaching that every little accusation should be reconciled. This is super sensitivity. Who cares if a person reconciles with another person but has no genuine interest in meeting the need. Look at how the apostle dealt with conflict in the church. If it was someone who owed money like Onesemis who was a valuable servant in the advancement of the gospel... the apostle wanted the gospel to advance more than to account the sin. He told them to put the debt on His account. In other words the only real problems that needed attention about anger were those who were in the James category. Who were double minded out of a sense of strength....the strong ruling force of a rich man or a strong man... who cause conflict that went into the public worship.

If you look the proper view of anger was always in the context of real genuine care for someone and not this secret hatred in the heart. Who cares if there is reconciliation but no help! We are commanded to overlook our brothers sins not to bring them to the altar! Those who have a show of righteousness are the ones who have no care for the hurting. This is to pass scorn on a brother. Scorn is real enmity in the community of faith. This is why it is impossible for the church to create reconciliation. There is only two kinds of individuals. The saints and the aints.

Look what Jesus says in His teaching about our heavenly Father. He is saying that its not our Fathers will to give His sons a snake! This is a play on words the ot saint would understand. A snake in the ot was a ruler who brought on misery by his decrees. He was like a serpent who would not heed even to the charm of a charmer. This ruler has a ferocious bite. He leaves destruction in his path way because he does not protect the poor and helpless. There is no feeling of love here! This is real adversity!

Look at how the apostle dealt with the woman who had taken their argument to the public forum of the church. He did not say to leave their gift at the altar. He encouraged them to get along. They already offered a gift of righteousness in when Christ removed the enmity that existed in all of the reality of the saint. This is the standard. If you see your brother in need and do not come to his aid then what does Christ say in righteous anger? He says you are in danger of the final judgment. Its not some super sensitive emotional show of solidarity. You got to observe the visible dominance these pharisees were ruling with over the nt church.... this is real.

The world is a place of opposition to all that God is doing. God must decree whatsoever comes to pass or the world would destroy itself. We live in between the ideas of success and the opposition to those ideas. What a man thinks in his heart is who he is. This is why we need daily wisdom. We need to be hooked up to the communication of a knowledge that comes into time. But we cannot accomplish this with our own minds going through this process. We must know the causes of the existence of all that we are going to face. We must break down these complicated schemes so that we will be confident in our wanting the things that will be brought into our lives in order for us to be successful. We must go beyond our own reasoning.
We cannot possibly understand all there is to know about the communication of the opposition. Only God knows the very small details that unlock our frustration in facing this opposition. This is why we must understand how God operates in bringing about His purposes in our lives. This means that we face the next moment as if we do not have the proficient understanding of the reasons for our purpose. We must be completely dependent on God. This is why the christian life is focused on seeking rather than just doing.
God decrees whatsoever comes to pass but it must come through our understanding. We are not mindless robots who are moved along by Gods hands. We must create what God purposes in our lives.
We express this creating through faith. For without faith it is impossible to please God. We must know how God creates and moves things through the means to the His ends. Or we will be going down side roads... trusting in imaginations... and going in a way through our own resources and powers. We could wear ourselves out doing good. The only security we have is to listen to God and ask for wisdom. But our asking for wisdom comes when we have wisdom to understand what He is saying to us. We must be filled with wisdom in order to create His purposes. Then we will get new wisdom.

Unbelievable training of a Navy Seal... great article

Deprived of support in our environment and the support of our own bodies, the only thing propping us up was our belief in accomplishing the mission—complete Hell Week. In psychology this belief is called self-efficacy.

Even when the mission seems impossible, it is the strength of our belief that makes success possible. The absence of this belief guarantees failure.

A strong belief in the mission fuels our ability to focus, put forth effort, and persist.

Believing allows us to see the goal (complete Hell Week) and break the goal down into more manageable objectives (one evolution at a time).

If the evolution is a boat race, it can be broken down into even smaller objectives such as paddling. Believing allows us to seek out strategies to accomplish the objectives, such as using the larger shoulder muscles to paddle rather than the smaller forearm muscles. Then, when the race is done, move on to the next evolution.

Thinking too much about what happened and what is about to happen will wear you down. Live in the moment and take it one step at a time......

I wouldn’t want to die in a cage of starvation or have my head cut off for some video to be shown around the world on the Internet.

My attitude is that if the enemy wants to kill me, they’re going to have to kill me now. We despise would-be dictators who wish to dominate us—SEALs steer the rudders of their own destinies.

Our world is a meritocracy where we are free to leave at any time. Our missions are voluntary; I can’t think of a mission that wasn’t. Ours is an unwritten code: It’s better to burn out than to fade away—and with our last breaths we’ll take as many of the enemy with us as possible.

Verse 1. And God the Father, who raised him from the dead.

Paul is so eager to come to the subject matter of his epistle, the righteousness of faith in opposition to the righteousness of works, that already in the title he must speak his mind. He did not think it quite enough to say that he was an apostle “by Jesus Christ”; he adds, “and God the Father, who raised him from the dead.”

The clause seems superfluous on first sight. Yet Paul had a good reason for adding it. He had to deal with Satan and his agents who endeavored to deprive him of the righteousness of Christ, who was raised by God the Father from the dead. These perverters of the righteousness of Christ resist the Father and the Son, and the works of them both.

In this whole epistle Paul treats of the resurrection of Christ. By His resurrection Christ won the victory over law, sin, flesh, world, devil, death, hell, and every evil. And 12this His victory He donated unto us. These many tyrants and enemies of ours may accuse and frighten us, but they dare not condemn us, for Christ, whom God the Father has raised from the dead is our righteousness and our victory.

Do you notice how well suited to his purpose Paul writes? He does not say, “By God who made heaven and earth, who is Lord of the angels,” but Paul has in mind the righteousness of Christ, and speaks to the point, saying, “I am an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead.”
