I do not think you should limit God by making fast rules with these second causes. If you carefully examine the biblical teaching on second causes you will undoubtedly find it is much different saying the first cause comprise one line and the second cause remain the other parallel line.Examine what David says about second cause sacrifices. "Sacrifice and offerings you did not require but my ears you have pierced". Then said "here am I Lord I have come to do your will Your law is within my heart," David is saying he was Gods servant acting to preserve Gods kingdom. Salvation and grace are significantly bigger than sacrifices. Consequently, David narrows the ultimate purpose of eternal salvation to full deliverance from all powers of this world.
The apostle says "I consider all things a loss for the sake of Christ." This is why I have been saying the Bible is not a comprehensive manual but prophetic language. God is accurate describing of us by the unified reflection of Himself. This is why Paul said "for me to live is Christ" He acted in absolute unity as the genuine expression of the perfect word. The word of God unifies all things. God has spoken all things into existence for His purpose. The sole reason the word is not ruling in disjointed hearts. Satan comes to snatch the word and destroy its effectiveness. He blinds the mind of his followers. If Satan did not have an advantage in this world then all people would experience oneness with nature and pleasure in the gifts of others. Their hearts would be sown together and enlightened by the beauty of God. Everyone would be rejoicing in all things.
There are social levels of adversity. The wicked authorities in society oppose the spread of the word of God. When the culture is lawless men delight in evil. If God did not oppose evil, the very elect would be deceived. Men are drawn away from social unity of creation by the mutual love of idols. Its like a frog in a frying pan. Just the familiarity of evil hardens men hearts. We experience an exceptionally elevated level of unity by subduing the violence of the culture. Our personal lives are like a wavy line on a chart. As violence rises we descend into disunity. When we subdue violence, we ascend to unity. We are forced to grow down by pronouncing the curse as we descend. We relentlessly push the pervasive violence under our filthy feet. As we subdue violence, we ascend to the blessing of unity.
