These white robes are the picturesque garb of heaven. All the glorified saints will be properly clothed in the eternal righteousness of Christ. The robes remind us of the official declaration of the saints innocence that is declared by the Lord of eternal glory. They represent Gods vindication of righteous who fulfills renewed desires. The sincere desires of the righteous to earnestly seek His radiant face will be fulfilled. His face we will seek. The righteous enjoy personal protection on this earth in finding refuge in our God. Although on this earth we are constrained by the decaying flesh we will ultimately enjoy no more pain but a continuous flow of eternal life from the eternal throne of God.
But at the same time the righteous also desire the judicial punishment of the wicked. These ardent desires will not be thwarted. The kingdom of God is not meat or drink but righteousness, ecstatic joy and ineffable peace in the Holy Ghost. So in being clothed with the righteous robes of Christ we possess the kingdom of God living in our affectionate hearts. We will see the wicked clothed in their own worthless garb. If we take refuge in God then He speaks salvation to us. How does He speak? By encouraging our devout faith with His covenant promises. He escorts us along like a gentle shepherd by the flowing streams of living water. These sparkling streams are divine illuminations of the brightness of His glory. We long that God will amply avenge the righteous who suffer on this earth. Our heavenly white robes encourage us to diligently seek the destruction of the wicked by praying and longing that they are ensnared in the clever traps they have intentionally set for us. The wicked longings will be like the chaff that blows in the wind. But we long to hear the eternal salvation of God pronounced on us when we are invested with His righteousness.
This is followed by God spreading His tent over us. This tent is Gods goodness, faithfulness, eternal love and divine power, prevailing wisdom, extraordinary strength, honor glory and praise. Because we long to hear a word of salvation in our most trying times. God secures trials to reaffirm our resolve to find this new word of salvation in which He speaks to our hearts. He carefully spreads His tent over us. Reminding us through His eternal covenant He will fiercely protect us from the hands of the wicked. Very soon we will enter eternal heaven in all of the dazzling splendor with uninhibited wonder as we instantly look on the Lamb of Glory. We see through a dark glass but then we shall see face to face. The brightness of His glory will blind the minds of evil men. In this life the glory works on our behalf prevents the wicked from fulfilling their desires. The wicked is overcome with their own schemes. God will not share His own glory with any man. He must spread the tent of everlasting destruction over the lives of the wicked.
