The Psalmist is teaching that the strength that God excised when He declared all things into existence is demonstrated to His elect. The creative strength is peacefully exercised by God in eternal salvation. This mighty strength establishes the charitable foundation of our ideal lives. As the Shepherd gently carries the helpless sheep so God acts graciously according to His creative axioms to cause us to stand. We must acknowledge the destructive work of the law peacefully exercised by God who uses evil as the essential established foundation that we stand on. When we are gathered, we are safeguarded from the condemnation of the law. We are being under-girded by God's negative control of grave good and evil. This is more than a personal standard of morality. It is profitably employed in the lawful exercise of God's superior power over the destructive activity of dreadful sin and bureaucratic corruption. Sin and eternal justice are like oil and water. As the oil does not absorb the water, so our creative use of the axioms forcibly prevents us from being infected by the weakened virus of the dreadful curse.

We repel the destructive force of corruption in the pronouncement of the curse. The Psalmist is teaching we must be borne by God to be saved. Consequently, we are born not strong enough to repel the destructive dangers of evil. When we are the most vulnerable to destruction, he has pronounced the curse as the foundation to stand on. Because we repeatedly confront dreadful danger, we must be capable of ruthlessly destroying the violent opposition. If there was no curse of the law then we would be incapable to eliminate the threat. Sin has produced the threat of destruction that must be quarantined. This is why the Psalmist prays 4Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back upon them what they deserve." God is not a judge punishing every sin. He is the judge who defends saints from the threat of destruction. How does God provide a secure foundation? Through poxes.

We must acknowledge we confront an enemy that never rests. We cannot outmaneuver the vicious enemy. We cannot run efficiently from the enemy. If there was no eternal curse then civilized mankind would be ruthlessly destroyed. Consequently, God forcibly prevents the wicked from cruelly destroying God's elect. God responded to sin by appropriately giving man the pox so that whatever he desperately desires results in cursing himself. The curse of the law has become a gift to us to seamlessly allow and prevent. 6Praise be to the LORD,for he has heard my cry for mercy.7The LORD is my strength and my shield;my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
