21So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God's law;Ps 38 All my longings lie open before you, O Lord; my sighing is not hidden from you. " The apostle is not trusting in his confession but pointingto the new man that dwells in him.25Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! Now he confesses that even tho he still sins his identity is the new man. So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.Rom 7 11For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death"Our sin is cauterized by the heat of the law. If the law did not kill the sin then we would be destroyed by our own ability. If we do not rise up in pronouncing the law and the curse then we allow sin to fester. If the law produces death then what is left to react to its power? We are dead. If we are dead then the living sin died in us and is a rotten object. The law is good because it produces death in us. The apostle is not saying that the shows us our sin so that we are shamed. He is saying that the law gives us ability to separate ourselves from that cursed thing.Rom 7 13b But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful." The law rises up in the pronouncement of the curse in making us unable so that in Christ we are enabledRom 7 9Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died." The law acts with our gift of knowing we are sinners so that we distance ourselves from the sin that dwells in us.17As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me". We must curse the curse of sin.Rom 7 13b But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful." The law rises up in the pronouncement of the curse in making us unable so that in Christ we are enabled16And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. The apostle shows his love for the law by distancing himself from the cursed thing that dwells in him.The law is good because it produces death in us. The apostle is not saying that the shows us our sin so that we are shamed. He is saying that the law gives us ability to separate ourselves from that cursed thing. If we want to lead our cultural language must be foreign to us. We must have answers that do not have anything to do with the problems that need a solution. We must be able to pronounce eternal axioms in order to create the circumstances that answer the problems that
