Jude applies the account of Cain and Abel to the leaders who use the
word for profit. The NT writers curse the Cain as a son of Satan whos
children are leaders who profit on Gods word.1 jn 3 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered
his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were
evil and his brother's were righteous." Evil comes from an evil heart.
Righteousness comes from the righteousness of Christ.11 4By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith
he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his
offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead. Cain
was faithless and was cursed while Abel obtained righteousness by faithPs 59 "Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules
over Jacob."
This Psalm is a prophecy of the opposition that Christ who is the
fulfillment of the kingdom of David will face within the city of David.
David is teaching that the nations have invaded the city.5 O LORD God Almighty, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all
the nations;show no mercy to wicked traitors. Selah The citizens are
identified as traitors as the Psalmist describes them as the nations
that are on his doorstep.Let me say there are a few Psalms that have caused me a lot of trouble
over my life. But unless I pronounced them for 40 years I would have
been destroyed by now. The nice thing about the Psalms is that you can
stand behind the curse and rest.Ps 59 6 They return at evening, snarling like dogs and prowl about the
city. The Psalmist is calling the traitors in the city dogs - gentiles.
Phil.3 2Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those
mutilators of the flesh.3For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of
God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the
flesh-- 4though I myself have reasons for such confidence". Psalmist
describes the character of the dogs as staying up all nightand planning their evil. You see this in the account of the Pharisees
when they put Christ on trial. The did it in the night. The Pharisees
are the dogs that rule over the dogs or the jews who are demanding that
you cannot be saved without circumcision.7 See what they spew from their mouths- they spew out swords from their
lips,
and they say, "Who can hear us?" 8 But you, O LORD , laugh at them; you
scoff at all those nations. The wicked are blind to the word of God.
They redefine the law of God. The apostle says that a jew is
