Ps 62 7My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge."
The Psalmist has been teaching that true value is found in God alone. Because we are born in sin we naturally accept a view of ourselves that is lower than Gods view of us. So the Psalmist is saying that we must be transformed to a new understanding of our valued identity in Christ. The facts are that real reality is found in Gods purpose to bring Himself pleasure and glory from the creation. In order for us to understand that value we must meet the requirements of the law. God had to place value on the creation by a legal standard. In other word reality is God creating everything to work according to the standard of the law. This is why God revealed the true standard in the pronouncements of the law, covenants, curses, decrees, statutes and promises. When sin entered into the world, the standard of the law must be met by a justified argument that is founded upon a covenant promise. This is why God created all things according to the axioms because He had to justify Himself that He is always faithful, compassionate, kind, loving and just. The creation is proof that Gods revealed arguments that we are justified are upheld. God argues for our justification in the pronouncements of the king.
The Psalmist is saying that when he pronounces the axioms he experiences honor in the legal justification of salvation. God returns the entire creation to its original value in order to unite all creation for the purpose of saving His people. The axioms contain the reality of that value in the face of opposition. In this sense the more that we pronounce the Psalms the more we experience power and unity. You see the gospel is a legal argument that brings cursing and blessing together. The apostle says Rom8 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.23 Not
only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the
redemption of our bodies." The creation cries out against the axioms. When sin entered the world, the unity of creation was turned upside down. We ruled over creation in exercising free will. Every thing worked according to justice and equity. But the legal case against us began when sin and corruption entered into the world. So God gave us the axioms to prevent us from being destroyed by legally justifying of our identity in Christ as our new view of order. When we pronounce the legal justification of our identity we return to our original identity of ruling over the creation. We find our honor in God by pronouncing the legal justification of our value in Christ.
