Yes
the bible describes only two kinds of people. Those who are unsaved and
those who are saved. The unsaved are under the curse that God spoke in
response to Adams sin. If you recalled God not only cursed man with
physical and spiritual death but he also cursed all of creation. Why did
God curse man because of sin? Because the law demands death for
violators. If there was some other way to discipline man God would have
provided it. But the weight of the law was enough to deal with mans
rebellion. Do you realize that God took up the cause of the victim by
using the curse?
This is why Gods extreme punishment was actually a blessing. Because Adams response was to try to rehabilitate himself by wearing the leaves. Adam did not really believe that he could break himself by going the way of the law. As we get more progressive revelation God describes the awful consequences of those who use the law to approach God. He says that if a person believes that they keep one of the laws then they will be judged by the whole weight of the law. God gave man the pathway to freedom by putting angels to keep man from eating of the tree of life without a substitute. God made it impossible for man to come on his own with his own goodness. This is why we are soooo free. God had to meet the requirements of the law in Himself. He had to become a curse for us. Christ had to suffer the full effects of the curse bear the whole weight of the law upon Himself. This is why He made it impossible for us to replace Christ and do that work. We could never meet the standard of law keeping. There is never a time where we can say that we are able to be the judge. Christ alone judges all things. We could never come to God on our own. He had to come to us and reveal Himself to us. We were not good enough to be the person who received salvation. We received a gift in which everything that we have, everything that we do and how we are justified was already earned by Christ. When we were born again we were not given the ability to be good on our own. But we receive everything in this life as a gift from the Person who goes out before us as we walk this earth. Even if we could earn our rewards we still are familiar with the curse. Anytime we look to ourselves for salvation we embrace the curse. We suffer under the obligations of the law. Instead of being free from the law ...the law becomes our school master. We trade the weight of Christ work on our behalf for a pragmatic solution to our suffering. We have been given Gods power which is the only solution to our suffering ....so we can push the curse away ... not embrace it. |

This is why I reject two line. If the law has
been fulfilled in Christ then why do we give it a third use in which it
stands as a whip to lead us to Christ? Why would the scriptures say that
the law acts as a school master to those who think they can keep it?
But yet where does it say that the saints must receive the same school
master instruction under the paradigm of sanctification? So again we are
free from the law but the law stands over us to lead us to Christ. So
there is no condemnation but we are condemned in the sanctification
part. Another contradiction.
How can we be genuine when we embrace contradictions? Its like saying I love you under the paradigm of justification but I hate you under the paradigm of sanctification because your so damn disobedient. We laugh at people who go to extremes and yet we teach a schizophrenic way in being blamed or standing accepted. I have unsaved friends who have better street sense than this. They can tell when someone is pulling the wool over their eyes. This same schizophrenic reaction happens when two liners get to the hard sayings of Jesus. Ive seen really mature christians act like total buffoons ...losing all their confidence ...not realizing that other people are watching. Even the world is more balanced than two liners. The truth is that the bible teaches that when we are saved the law actually becomes our friend. It is our protection. Why would you then let it turn on you like a scorned woman and scratch your eyes out? lol There is only one logical reason you would go to the other extreme. Because you really do not believe that Christ fulfilled the law. Your ready to abandon Christ because you have a weak confession. There are military soldiers who are more faithful to their confession than most two liners. They would endure beatings and hold to their confession. |
